USE

I have problems with that since I was in XP. The drivers have been t days, but it does not rotate stably. I have the impression that the printer port management changes under Windows XP DBiT MIDI information is not REGULAR. In addition, Steinberg does not recommend using a midi interface that plugs behind the key on the printer port. on the other hand, from Cubase SX AC should rgler party in the problem because the key is on the USB port. When i was under 98, I felt that the interface was saturated at times.

NOTICE GLOBAL

I use it for 3 years, but with the passage under XP I t obliged to take this time a midi interface 4 in 4 out usb port because even if the drivers xp came out, the 4140 works very poorly for the same time having well configured the computer. The qualitPrix report would be good if the interface worked well.
for now I prefer to work with a 4x4 midiman midisport xp with which I have much less problem

Compact box with 4 MIDI INs + 4 MIDI OUTs. It's connected to the PS/2 port of the keyboard via the ET parallel port (which isn't great)

USE

I had no issues installing it on a duron 700 + Abit KT7 system running W98SE and the original driver
"Transparent" use with Cubase. Every MIDI input/output is displayed with the desired name.

OVERALL OPINION

Having tested a Midi USB interface before (the emagic MT4), which crashed Cubase regularly, I've had no issues after upgrading to the MT4140.
Apart from the connection via the keyboard port (I would've preferred a separate PSU), it's all good!

The MIDI interface is in the form of external unboitier connected to the parallel port of a PC. It offers 4 MIDI I / O independent, and a SMPTE sync. The only point "negative" (positive for some) for food, which is through the keyboard port and a special cable. It works of course, but it's a little hobby!

UTILIZATION

The drivers have been updated once and it was good. This is a solid stability! I use the following config: Pentium III 650 on Asus P3V4X motherboard, 256MB of RAM with Cubase and mainly Gigasampler.

OVERALL OPINION

This MIDI interface is simply excellent. Once installed, it knows how to forget! Only the LEDs on the front to remind you that the MIDI messages pass though! It is reassuring to some side ... From a quality / price ratio interesting, and using proven technology, in my opinion the ideal interface in this range of specs (4 E / S) and a much better choice than USB enclosures still lack maturity .
