[NAMM] DigiTech Control 2

DigiTech premieres its new Control 2 remote foot controller, designed specifically for use with DigiTech’s flagship GSP1101 Guitar Preamp / Processor.

Featuring sturdy, rugged construction; 14 classic vacuum-style switches; expression pedal; 14 large 15-segment LED displays for program name and tuning; and two large seven-segment LED displays, the Control 2 remote foot controller targets professional users and artists by enhancing the GSP1101’s functionality with convenient hands-free operation for both stage and studio use. The GSP1101 Preamp/Processor is a 1U rack mount processor that employs the latest in digital modeling technology and features 125 amp, cabinet, preamp and effects models including vintage stompboxes, 40 Tone and 40 Effects Libraries and much more.

The Control 2 can be configured to work in either standard 5-patch or 10-patch mode. In 5-patch mode, switches 1–5 control program changes within the bank, and switches 6–10 control individual on/off of internal stompboxes and effects. In 10-patch mode, switches 1–10 control individual program changes. “Bank Up” and “Bank Down” switches provide a straightforward method of changing banks, and a “Tap Tempo” controls the GSP1101’s Delay time. Also, the GSP1101’s external effect loop can be switched in or out from the Control when assigned as a control in 5 patch mode. The large, high contrast LED displays are perfect for low-light stage situations; one features green 14-character display for preset names, and the other features 2-character display for program/bank number.

The Control 2 requires no external power, as it is powered via a CAT5 cable (25' / 7.6m cable included) from the GSP1101, making for a quick and easy setup and tear down.

The DigiTech Control 2 remote foot controller for the GSP1101 Guitar Preamp / Processor will be available January 2008, priced at $429.95 MSRP, and the GSP1101 is priced at $699.95, creating a professional combination for both touring artists and studio players alike.
