I just received (Thomann) and everything is consistent with what was said bassists around the world. It's made in China (it does not jump immediately to the eyes), 6 strings, 24 frets, active electronics in EQUAL only, bass / treble. The bridge is pretty solid, chrome, non-through strings. The neck is rather thin for such a behemoth, the first nice grip. This is the first time I play the 6 strings and frankly, the instrument is not confusing, even downright nice, no need to make long journeys in the race: reduced labor mobility, jumping rope more Many notes and faster, great! Mics, I do not know what to say, I plugged directly into my console, balance in the middle and equals neutral. Result: a round, warm mids with well audible, well-defined bass.

UTILIZATION

As I said from the first grip, the game is enjoyable and you'll quickly benchmarks. I'm still a little disoriented from the G string and do, I tend to steer and saw the string height, it will have to press a little more ... But hey: strings a bit high, it's muscle! And at least she does not frieze. I do not make profound adjustments above, except for adjusting the accuracy of the D string and soil. The weight? we'll see the next repeat. A priori, 6 kg. I have already held a Jazz Bass 70 hours is something else, then it's heavy ...
I have a padded shoulder strap with split leather on the inside, the bass does not slip and is well balanced. Anyway, always strapped play, sitting or standing, so ...
The sound, I immediately wanted to neutral. Unretouched. Here we see the intrinsic qualities of the instrument. Well frankly, it looks good. I will test later with my band, passing through my preamp (a Tech21 Sansamp).

SOUNDS

She goes through a preamp Sansamp Tech 21 with which I rule finesse. For the moment, again, I use a Hartke A100, but I intend to move quickly to bigger, so you can send safely with so serious. His sound "natural" without equal and with two microphones seems pleasant, warm and clear, with a very sharp attack. I plugged directly into my console, speaker of proximity (the Focal Micron). Pushing the bass, it was crazy fast! Treble earned me one a little hum, but I think it's due to the environment (PC, synths and all the fuss). I had to go and fetch with the trim, which probably explains the buzz with the treble volume pot. I do not think it is significant. So I find the sound "neutral" nice, well-defined, my 6 month old son has even turned his head with curiosity and he seemed to enjoy.

OVERALL OPINION

I played pretty low since I started this instrument (there are about fifteen years): Ibanez, Fender, Valley & Blues, Hervé Prudent. To this day, I play mostly on a 4-string Peavy Cirrus. She will now serve as a backup. I hope the Harley Benton held the years. If it was not the case, I am still on 6 strings (the game is faster, at least in my case).
For value for money, we'll see over time. Meanwhile, I am not ruined and I am pleased with the quality of the instrument. A few details: the key is a bit dry, it's true. I'll pass it a little linseed oil, it can only do good. People who have worked a factory would be over in a hurry (not surprisingly, the rate in China should not be an easy one): screw the fastener down the body was twisted and grinded. I replaced the strap lock screw my Ernie Ball. I now take my experience on this instrument that excites me and gives me quite a boost of motivation and always wanted to play more notes.
