- Low 5 japanese strings (for wood, see manufacturer)
- Handle type yamaha 24 frets, 2 active pickups
- 5 pots settings:
1 volume
A micro scale
A serious
A 3-position midrange
An acute
- Nice finish, mine is a beautiful emerald green translucent (wood designs visible), the sunburst of the above photo does not look bad either.
UTILIZATION
- Handle very pleasant. I played on a Fender Jazz Bass Mexico to begin with, I much prefer the comfort of playing the BB-N5A, even with a rope and more.
- Access to acute is easy, except perhaps for the last two cases (but hey you do not spend his life on the 24th case, as a guitar).
- Hollow on the back avoiding to ruin the coast ach time we play up. It is a bit heavy but well balanced, play live is learning to sit up straight.
- The active pickups decked out in all settings allow both to play a percussive funk reggae a much heavier (very versatile).
SOUNDS
As I said before, the many settings provide absolute versatility. The 3 position knob mediums allows for example to go (to use the same examples above) to move from funk to reggae on the same piece just by shifting the knob a notch.
OVERALL OPINION
- Before this, I played a Fender Jazz Bass, an Ibanez Ergodyne. I use it for 4 years now and I intend to finish my life with.
- And +:
the look
the sonic possibilities virtually unlimited
the -:
weight
- When I bought it, I never thought to put 830 euros in a low (I was a student!). My teacher sold it, so I could take the time to try it before I decided, but I am quickly falling in love. I have no regrets, on the contrary, I'm glad I ventured out my money.
