I knew absolutely no DMX before buying this console and studying a little different instructions I can get out pretty well. The possibilities are quite extensive and can build interesting programs. I control a scan Eurolite PAR 56 and through two power blocs. It easily creates programs, called "scenes" that allow to alternate the illumination of lights with different gradients possibly want. Only small downside, the lack of a control knob sensitivity internal microphone if the console is controlled by the music. If the sound source is too high, the scenes are scrambling a bit.
You still need perspective, this is an entry-level product that allows you to still control a large number of projectors and will give different lighting effects without having to deal with it. It is not always possible to have someone available to handle the lighting, which is the case for all small groups.
Latest information for those who do not know (I was one) to drive BY 56 you need one or more blocks of power and preference do drive "dimmer" without it the DMX does you no good.

This is an entry-level controller that handles 16 channels, 30 banks of 8 scenes.
it works pretty well but the limit is quickly reached. 12 aircraft of 16 channels, I tested 24 8-channel device to see the DMX signal is not strong enough to go beyond 20 aircraft. the knobs are, however, by no means precise and tedious when you want to achieve precise values.
For its price, it's a good product. it all depends what you want to do, but not too much anyway. To start the DMX is a good approach, we regret not to find a step function which make it interesting and a possibility to store the memories that make it much more attractive.

Dailleurs I regret that the manufacturers do not offer the small possibility of storage controllers. Apart from mass storage, it is not just the stoker and retail banks separately. It's a pity ...
