Sonnox and Fraunhofer have collaborated in the creation of Codec Toolbox, an audio encoding plug-in for web publishing.
Codec Toolbox features two applications: the Toolbox Plug-in allows for listening to your mix in real time with several codecs (MP3, AAC, iTunes+…), while the Toolbox Manager is used for encoding and metadata adding (file name, artwork…).
File batch processing is supported and a compensation/protection against clipping is included. Last, you can also decode your MP3 or AAC files into WAV or AIFF formats.
Codec Toolbox is available in VST, AU, RTAS and AAX plug-in formats for Mac OS X and Windows. It retails for £35 and you can download a demo version from www.sonnox.com. An iLok dongle is required for both full and trial versions and video tutorials are also available (See the Media tab above).
