Value For Money :
Excellent
Guitar handcrafted and tailored according to my specifications.
To the form (and the name too) as you can doubt this is a copy of Ibanez Iceman. The measurements were taken on a IC500 supposed to be a tad smaller than a standard Iceman but I never made the comparison.
For complete specifications:
- Mahogany body (sapele) 1 piece truly beautiful finish chosen.
- Neck Mahogany Light (cedrela odorata) to ensure that the guitar slumps. Profile heel almost like a guitar neck driver.
- Indian rosewood fingerboard with medium jumbo frets steel, 22 frets, pearl dots marks.
- Double action truss rod with adjustment after the last fret for easy access.
- 2 carbon reinforcements for a better grip of the handle.
- Mechanical locking grover.
- Graphtec nut.
- Bridge tune-o-matic Babicz nice with individual settings for each string.
- 2 humbuckers Custom SP (Boomleacher and Heatcrusher) with 1 volume push-pull for each. Chrome covers.
- 3-position selector placed next to the volume knobs (instead of the typical investment Les Paul).
- Shield the cavity with electronic magnetic sapele veneer.
- Electronic cavity painted graphite paint.
- Varnished blackburst
UTILIZATION
Handle or too big (some kind LP) or too thin (type Ibanez RG), measurements are almost identical to that of the model IC500 I have and I appreciate the form.
Ergonomics is very good thanks to the good balance of the guitar, which is generally not the case with the Iceman who tend to lean towards the head. The guitar is rather light and I have no discomfort after prolonged use standing.
The bridge is Babicz I find more enjoyable for the right hand that TOM standards and allows greater freedom of adjustment.
The 16-inch radius and frets steels offer an excellent comfort. The heel section provides easy access to the last fret.
Microphones are quality, we get a good sound without worry.
Brief perfect for my needs and my use!
SOUNDS
Depending on time and mood, I play rock / blues / hard rock / punk / pop / funk / metal / fusion / and also a little bit of jazz and I always get a sound that I like. The sound quality microphones is to go with a grain and a personality that I like. Given the configuration of the guitar, everything is saturated and that goes from blues to metal is really excellent. Macro mode rock / hard rock is a true war machine!
The guitar sounds good vacuum and sustain is the appointment. The microphones can even split out sounds very convincing in registers as funk. Although this is not as slamming a strat type guitar but it does the job without worry.
OVERALL OPINION
The guitar was commissioned in December 2011 and delivered to your home (!) In April 2012. I do not touch my other guitars almost more since seen the overall quality, comfort and versatility of the guitar. Regarding communication, I exchanged a lot of emails before and during construction (and even now), and I've always had an answer / an opinion / advice clear and fast. The price / quality ratio is excellent considering the work done and a total price almost identical to a standard LP 2012. I do not regret my choice and highly recommend PMC who wants to take the plunge for a unique high quality guitar.
