UTILIZATION

The handle is nice, quite flowing.
Access to acute is a treat.

I like to play the "Robert" with the guitar high enough. The ergonomics of the body allows me.
The body is thin and light.

SOUNDS

I was looking for a guitar to play in E for a project of symphonic metal, old WI 65 Pro gothika If being brutal to play.

The sound is nice, fine. Duncam USM Humbucker pickups do not have the power or the aggressiveness of Seymour Duncan USA send but not bad with distortion.
The clean sounds are fairly accurate and fairly round.
Solos sound good, the palm muting are clean, rhythmic pass as a letter in the mail.
Arpeggios fingers are round and very sweet.

I play on an amp Line 6 Spider II purchased at the same time that my WI 65 Pro Gothika.
I did not need to change the settings compared to my other guitar. XM STD2 being less aggressive than my other guitar sound heavier sounds right away, and that's what I wanted.

I played more violent more aggressive riffs (some brutal death does not hurt). The guitar quickly show its limitations. Response USM Duncan pickups is not the Seymour Duncan. The riffs panzer division fashion (220 of sixteenth notes) are somewhat drafts. Maisn good, if you want to drive fast, no one buys a twingo.

OVERALL OPINION

I wanted a guitar for the symphonic metal, but without blowing the family budget, the risk that my wife foute me out.
I did not have any specific ideas on the guitar I wanted so I tried several.
In other entries ranges, there was always something that I crumpled, access to difficult treble, not enough answers at the palm, etc. ...
Then I tested the XM STD2.
Big favorite.

I did a lot of praise for this guitar because the price / quality ratio is really excellent and I am very satisfied.

This guitar, although entry level suits my game fast and what I wanted.
I put 9/10 because I found shoe to my foot.
