« Immense qualities hidden behind a beautiful simplicity »
Published on 04/14/12 at 07:30Model 000-15SM still uncommon in France in 2012
Made in USA of course like any production Martin & Co
All mahogany with features compared to 0015 and 00,015 in the same series (15) including:
- Body shape / the cash goes back further on the handle, allowing access to the 12th fret unlike other models (14 boxes non-cash)
- Head pierced (superb)
- The price ...
Vintage charm especially for this model, it seems to hold an instrument that dates from 1940 in the hands ...
No binding, a violin summary to the bare minimum, but the essentials are: manufacturing quality and the result is felt in the affected and sound!
I put 9 history leave room for the more luxurious models ... but for me the goal is reached and sobriety has vintage charm
UTILIZATION
Handle very pleasant and easy to play (Mahogany) - the key is comfortable and the frets are low sweetness fabulous!
10/10 for this!
I do not take into account the issue of access to the highs seen that this is not a guitar that is designed to make flights of notes between the 15th and 17th box!
This is a guitar for a game in fingers or bottleneck, in picking, while fun and comfort ... a game ... any medium sweet ... nice ...
But beware! the highs are great! see below ....
SOUNDS
Ah yes .... then I say bravo! (10/10 and yes ....)
I feel the sound as an ideal for the style I like to play: blues / folk
The spectrum is broad and well balanced, sustain is thanks to the incredibly long mahogany table
The mediums are present without cover and precise low round and especially the treble.
For acute: they do not dominate the midrange but they speak beautifully: it seems that the E string, or if, "bubbling" finely (Champagne!!) Each time it is pinched it's beautiful ... a great pleasure!
I think the resulting sound is faithful to the "claw" Martin & Co: it sounds!
The pickers fill their ears more fun that fans of guitar picks 1 mm.
OVERALL OPINION
The purchase is recent but I found what I was looking for years
The price is a bit high but hey this is Martin, the quality ... better to € 1,600 and have his guitar rather than a soulless mass-produced for 900 €
Note of course that Martin manufactures high-volume but the knowledge of man is still an essential part in the manufacture of instruments ... phew
