« Guitar extremely endearing! »
Published on 01/13/13 at 08:10Characteristics R319SWKK (I specify because other models eg. Keys and rosewood bridge).
This model is only SOLID!
Type Parlor
Natural Finish relic
Solid Spruce Table
Solid back Trembesi
Sides solid Trembesi
Ebony bridge
Mahogany neck (profile V)
Ebene key
Mechanical Classics
Comes in various case (coffin)
Side "relic", ie intentionally aged may repel some people. Not me instead ... this guitar really authentic vintage look and is not at all exaggerated or caricatured.
UTILIZATION
Superb instrument that PARLOR. This is the most faithful replica model 1883. This guitar comes in a stunning original case and angular as in the last century that looks like a coffin. R319SWKK model has no markings on the keys. Shame ... but breeding is meant to be what it is.
We are surprised by the quality of both aesthetics of the instrument because this R319SKK is really well done. Aging voluntary compliance with the sound quality of the instrument are quite staggering. Parlor has this trunk! What projection! The sound is fairly typical of this type of model and it reminds me of the famous Robert Johnson. Bluesy roots sounds guaranteed! If you are like me and love the slide Bottleneck, this guitar will delight you.
The handle is marked V. Surprising at first, but is quickly forgotten and playing comfort is really nice. No problem, with or crossed, or for the installation of a Capo.
The low price is due to the fit and finish in Indonesia. Cost of labor requires ... But this is only one aspect "psychological" as the guitar is really well done. And then a guitar like that produced by a large American brand in the U.S. would cost over 2000 euro ...
I'm happy to take advantage of the expertise Washburn continues to make excellent guitar inexpensive.
SOUNDS
This guitar suits me perfectly, especially fingerpicking and slide.
Blues and Ragtime stick perfectly to the skin of this guitar. It gives the impression of having been made for it.
OVERALL OPINION
I use this guitar for two months and I am completely satisfied! I use this guitar on my couch in a hotel room on the beach ... etc.. I am passionate about blues, ragtime and fingerpicking. A real treat!
I bought it for my travels, and finally, I use it as often as my Taylor see more.
