All user reviews for the Fender Champion 100

Im using a Telecaster and a dozen pedals also I plug into a keyboard every now and then, I play alternative,jazz,grunge,rock,shoe-gaze.
This is a band practice, gigging amp in my opinion is heavy enough 212 combo, there are good on-board effects on this amp the reverb and volume is good as ive never maxed out yet but I use it as a workhorse, seems like a lot of knobs on this at first but gets simple enough if you were to borrow at a show or something.
Ive owned tube amps, solid states, small and big combos and this isnt the best but a nice looking solid state amp, in other words instead of the classic red ruby light you get a basic LED instead and it doesnt matter at all because the sound is very decent with nice cleans that shimmer against other basic solid states.

Beautiful simple and classic presentation, it lacks the diode diamond shaped logo and a thicker (I do not like the flat logo)

Just a note on the power of 100w, it is not at all aggressive and amp reacts better once past 3/4 volume, I even played up to 6/7 at home, right here cartonne but it ends up as deaf with Twin 4

UTILIZATION

The manual comes down to a page on which everything is presented.
Configuration mainly effects present on both channels via a mixer and a tap tempo, if I am not at all a fan of tap tempo must still report it to memory, ie, when one returns the effect on the value of TT is that of the old setting.
The voicing knob it is used with gain depending on the desired sound.
Nothing complicated just do a little research to what is best between gain, volume and tone controls are accurate and usable over a significant range.

SOUNDS

The clean is consistent with what is expected of a less dynamic than a Fender Deluxe but certainly less aggressive in the treble and equally great with a strat or LP.

Effects delay / reverb / chorus / flanger / Vibratone / touch wha should be used sparingly say that troubleshoots all well and can compensate for the lack of pedal / crank external but here remains manual and impractical in the dark. ..

The voicing is really the big plus of this amp, I retain the Blackface simulation which thickens the sound, the Jazz that works very well with double and finally the huge British, a distortion Marshallesque either with single or double , turn the knob at the end of the British entry you will not believe your ears, we changed amp, the ACDC ZZTOP and other ledzep will all go there without exception.

OVERALL OPINION

Lamps is fine but it is difficult to manage changes in tone depending on the volume are much larger than a transistor and is either too loud or otherwise inaudible. I need to power with the margin but also to change voicing almost every song. I do not want to fart around my ears in rehearsal or concert. I also plays home and I need to find the same sound. In short this Champion 100 gives me what I wanted for a long time, a working tool with a decent sound with a minimum of stuff to lug around. If you come across one, try it, I think you'll be surprised, so much better live than in the presentaton tubesque of Fender.
