Published on 01/06/14 at 10:40Do not be fooled by the packaging (zip bag and an ice sheet printed paper), because once unpacked, the Equinox cables Musician's Design (French craft business! Cocorico!) Exude quality! Hand welded, manufacturing bespoke and everything!
First point, they are much more rigid than all my other cables, it must follow the cable core to wrap, and this time, although the place for not torsades when playing. Else, their weight, you'll say, cable weighs nothing, but take one of these cables in hand and you will get a true impression of cable foolproof, either the cable itself with fine sheath is really solid brand Amphenol jacks up (a reference type) with a perfectly tight seal, these cables are designed to last! Second point and most importantly, the sound! I only play bass, a good old passive on a big fat stack any lamp, so personally I have not seen a significant increase in the gain, however, the definition and sound reproduction are at the rendezvous, the mids and highs seem more distinct, much better defined (the bread too!), severe they have more presence. I had a bit of everything cable level, I started with Yellow Cable then I went on the superior quality (type Planet Wave etc.), And there, we are still a cut above!
So yes, fifty euros for a 6m cable, it may seem expensive, but the build quality is there, the gain in quality and sound definition as standard, and good god, I'm repeating myself but it really gives cable feel able to resist it!
So I would do this choice? Yes, of course. Quality sound through the gear quality and cables in Design Musician's clearly part!
