The Alhambra 11P is the top of the range classic Alhambra, it is constructed by craftsmen after Valencia, Spain, and top-line forces, the buyer has the privilege to build customized, and that's what I ' did.
Initially the model 7P owner, it did not satisfy me (action too high, access to acute problem, although solid wood of second choice), so I made the top model for the brand.
Its manufacture has taken five months, I must say that I was demanding: cutaway, string type setting flamenco spruce top (I'm not a fan of cedar), and Indian rosewood body, and finally polish not polyurethane cellulose but, through which the wood breathe.
The woods are lovely, mottled like spruce on my Martin, rosewood with dark veining fabulous, sumptuous decor while remaining sober, cedar neck and ebony fingerboard. lifts a little hard but accurate, the aesthetic balance of the whole is perfect, this instrument is beautiful.
UTILIZATION
Finally a classical guitar strings whose work is relatively low and does not defeat when you are accustomed to folk guitar.
the handle is constructed and adjusted to feel great flexibility and smoothness when the runs, the back is slightly rounded and very comfortable for the left hand access to acute total is thanks to the cutaway, but also a less bulky heels, the high E has 20 boxes!
SO THE GAME IS TOTAL COMFORT and this guitar is extremely ergonomic.
July 20, 2005 Correction: not the playing comfort is not total because one month after receipt of the guitar, took the handle at an angle with respect to the table (or vice versa) and after three successive adjustments by the repairer the store near me, the height of the strings approach the 5mm at 12th fret, and that the bridge saddle down to a minimum.
The guitar is go home and I wait Alhambra!
This is unfortunate on a guitar of this price to face such a problem [/ b]
The guitar came back three months later, the key was apparently detached, and the angle to the table, changed, so it is once again playable, but the bridge saddle remained close to the bridge, so no reserve Setting: amateur work! years later, she stayed at a friend's violin maker who spent a whole to adjust to obtain a satisfactory adjustment and sustainable. However the finding of the expert is clear: This instrument is equipped with high-quality wood, but the construction and assembly left much to be desired, result, after 3 years, the whole body of the instrument worked and s is somewhat distorted, nothing really bad but it inspires little confidence in the possibility to keep the instrument for many years.
For cons, the sound is really top, typical of the modern Spanish guitar concert, treble very successful, powerful and full of singing sustain, powerful bass and deep in this area nothing to say, you can play any style happily.
SOUNDS
For now I remain reserved because I received it two days ago, yet after a few hours playing it one feels the sound begin to turn: the bass begin to give a depth and a sense of power, the acute far less powerful are beautiful, and the media produce a dull sound that starts envouter.on does not feel the dropout when playing the G string, the sound is balanced in all registers, excellent sustain, on steep, there is no saturation.
After three years of use, I confirm: the sound is really top, typical of the modern Spanish guitar concert, treble very successful, powerful, and plenty of singing sustain, powerful bass and deep in this area nothing to say you can play any style with happiness.
OVERALL OPINION
This guitar has a real potential and I think that in a year it will sound like a cathedral.
The top model, custom built and handmade by a company "industrial" can have a quality guitar almost "concert" for the price of a model study high-end 1600Euros, while in a craftsman models concert starts at 3000euros
The overall score down view of the problem mentioned above, disappointing!
So after returning to the manufacturer for repair, then move to a luthier for recovery settings and finding of deformations of the body due to adjustments olé olé, you will remember the following:
-Very good sound, for a true concert guitar Spanish.
-Beautiful wood species
-Construction approximate although conducted artisanally this model.
In absolute terms, should we buy Alhambra "industrial" and avoid high-end "craft"?
