Paiste created in 1996 after the Bronze alloy series Signatures. Traditionals series is the (very) high-end brand trying to redevelop here the sounds of the 40/50 's.

Cymbal fine handmade with care and has a great definition.
Its smoothness and contour (very flat) assure him a lot of harmonics and vibrations slow (hence a low tone). In compensation there is a small dome about 3.5 "which does not generate harmonics too, but the passage provides a" ping "... subtle and net attack is softer when compared with china novo or china.

Its large diameter slow & promises explosive projection. Well balanced it is not too intrusive with a reasonable volume. His sustain is perfect for my taste (neither too short nor too long). It diffuses well in space. It can make other cymbals pretty ordinary.

A more refined china, a swish by anatomy has an extent which is the set of china ride than through the crash. We keep a very good control by playing through the wash (vibration) and also due to its sustain.

Capable of providing rich cymbal sounds slightly veiled and deep as a full gloss shine delivering a warm and trashy with a great desire to dynamic. A wonder!

A full, large, complex, warm, smoky, shimmering & (slightly) dark ... It is necessary with these frequencies galore.

Details of its anatomy: edges very slightly raised.
Against very high price: 580 € (new store / 2012).
Available in two sizes: 20 & 22 ".

Subtle, versatile and beautiful rich ... more ... what more?

I thought my grail for china was the Zildjian Avedis China Boy Low 22 "(which I love), but since I found the Paiste Signature Traditionals Medium Light Swish 22" (only 280 €), j ' admit that my ears turned a corner sound.
This cymbal is also available in medium ... very very rare ... probably a prototype? ??

Not Paiste clubbing ... thank you:) -
