I have a 2.6 ghz intel quadcore 8gb ram on a gigabyte motherboard. Seagate HDD for the system and for projects velociraptor sounds.
I'm working on tango studio (ubuntu 10.04) and it works great as a sequencer with ardor ardor 2 and 3 (still in beta testing).
I use a RME HDSP 96/52
Perfect stability, super quality (frankly given the price it is gifts!)
OVERALL OPINION
It's been 2 years since I use linux dsp plugins and it runs well. Stability ok. The updates are regular, good follow behind.
Price / quality ratio nothing to say
I will definitely make the same choice.
