Getting started with the Antares Systems Kantos virtual instrument is easy to do and for me it was without any hassles or problems. I was able to get the software up pretty quickly as I had no compatibility issues whatsoever. The interface of the software may seem a bit daunting at first because of how much there is going on, but fret not as everything is laid out smartly and everything is rather easy to access and understand. I don't have the manual for the Antares Kantos software, but if you are new to virtual instruments I would recommend having it around as some of the sections of the software can be a bit complex for beginners.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

I am currently running Antares Kantos on a Mac Book Pro that has a 2.2 Ghz Intel Core Duo processor and 4 GB of RAM. I run it in Pro Tools LE 7.4 that runs with a Digi 002R audio interface. I've never had a problem running this virtual instrument with this configuration, but how well it runs really depends on what kind of system you are running it on. This being said I've never heard of anyone having any trouble with this software and I myself have never experienced any issues.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had the Antares Systems Kantos virtual instrument for about four or five years and I can't complain too much if at all about this software. It is very versatile and contains more than enough parameters and sections to keep any virtual synth user happy for a while. There aren't too many VIs like this one as it runs off of the pitch tracking technology that has made Antares famous, rather than being MIDI based. You can get all sorts of interesting sounds with this software and is really a must try for those who like to work with virtual instruments and synths.
