Analog overdrive, powered 9V, wider than a Boss (format electo harmonix about). Solid box, a red Foil Gold beautifully.

4 buttons: the drive, volume, tone, and the "dynamic", that is indeed an integrated compressor (well seen, I will have to resell mine!)

A small switch that is supposed to change according dynmaique three positions, the difference seems negligible anyway.

4 internal knobs: bass, mid, "shape notes" presence. Personally I do not mind making adjustments internally directly on the circuit, but finally we could say it's not so easy, especially for the set.
The button "shape notes" is supposed to change a typing modern / vintage say (his "round" or more "precise"): nice.

True bypass

Handmade pedal from Barber, "confirmed" by a mention inside the case.

To insert the battery you must remove the four screws fully open the pedal. and there is no real compartment. I personally feeds externally, so I do not care, but still it is a shame for the price.

UTILIZATION

The config is not so easy and the settings should look a little (ie including the pedal open, connected and returned to settle internal knobs.
The manual is an A4 sheet (me I'm fine, I read it anyway), especially with interest to propose adjustments to be tested (nice).

SOUND QUALITY

Clearly one of the best overdrive I've ever tested.

I compare it to what for me remains the benchmark the Vox Big Ben. In fact I'll keep both.
Vox is the most transparent, ideal for light crunch.
The Barber is doing much better against by the precision of a good punchy drive arrangements.
I confirm that it is very addictive in its character, its clarity and versatility. The burn is a means to an almost crunch distortion. The compressor is included absolutely excellent and allows a game effectively.

The sound can effectively manage an effect "type lamp" namely the crunch vary depending on the input level.

A little breath, but this is normal for this kind of effect.

She will rest a moment on my pedalboard!

OVERALL OPINION

Already a few days, it will have a prominent place on my pedalboard.
What I like most is the sound and versatility.
Least, perhaps having to make some adjustments directly on the circuit

the holy grail! respects the lamp with its heat, sound balance,
creamy overdrive the most beautiful effect, lots of harmonics, this pedal is downright addictive!

OVERALL OPINION

excellent value for the small fry,

The previous review sums up what is visible.
There are also four internal minipots good practices: presence, mids, bass and shape affecting the known external adjustments.

UTILIZATION

Initially, the pedal, the strongest of all possible settings, but seems rather conplexe the handbook includes ideas for getting together. You really bother to learn to use it. After that, it is happiness.

SOUND QUALITY

The satus are beautiful. I agree with the first opinion but over time I came to a much wider sonic palette, in the register vintage motivated my purchase and sounds much more modern.

I think, used with a good tube amp "unbridled", you get real tube amp sounds.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for two years. I have used and uses a lot of pedals satus.
The quality of sound and accessible range of opportunities pedal are my favorite aspect. I can not find a negative aspect.
The quality / price ... I bought two years ago, the United States when the dollar was at its lowest. It cost me € 100, new. Considering all the qualities I have enumerated, it is more than perfect.

UTILIZATION

Not easy to solve the beast
especially the dynamics knob - a kind of compressor that makes the game faster and more accurate, or, conversely, more jazzy-sweet.

SOUND QUALITY

The sound palette is wide, you can go a simulated fender overheated
to the old marshall with a good dose of bass response.

I observed a good overall dynamic response, the attack can be assayed for changes in volume of the most beautiful effect.

Beautiful "pinch harmonics" solo, which recall the tube amps, even if it will not replace them

Rhythmic and punchy with a very good distinction between the strings, we can finally hear a CM7 Dm7 or distorted!

OVERALL OPINION

used for a month, not yet tested again (unfortunately it is repeated that the pedals show their effectiveness).

I recommend a purchase, the price is modest on-site manufacturing, the components are top-top!

A pro pedal, so that requires time to adapt to taming and ... Ultimately a good partner for my components!
