This is an overdrive pedal, giving a slight saturation.100% analog of what any good.
Pedal that is or has been used by guys like Van Halen, Stevie Salas, The Edge AND ME!
UTILIZATION
The setup is ultra-simple level for volume, tone and to even drive to determine the degree of saturation.
Editing is very facile.Tu the branches and you quickly find the one that you like as long as your guitar and your amp provide a minimum.
Manual: very simple too, but it is better to follow his ears.
SOUND QUALITY
That's it, there arrive.Perso I find the sound excellent, the saturation is hot, with a slight roundness agréable.Les very complex arrangements (with a third for rockers lol)
sound very clearly and it's really nice to all distinguer.En over there is very little background noise and here, I like it.
I read that some regretted his lack of drive.Moi I branch with the compressor of the same brand (CS-3) plus-noise suppressor (NS-2) and frankly there is great! The grain is great music, there's a big potato with more drive and overtones are there, out super easy!
I use it all with an American Telecaster and a Peavey Classic 30 all tube.
I think it's obviously the ideal: an all-tube amp with this config ':
Compressor CS-3 + Super Overdrive SD-1 + NS-2 Noise Suppressor lamps + Amp = Big sound.
If you are looking for rock sounds of the Stones to U2 and even Kravitz, try ....
on the other hand for metal instead try to mount microphones on a chainsaw!
Regarding the source, mine is "made in Taiwan".
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for 5 years and I can say it saved me in the studio (its the frequencies are well out in a mix, rhythm or solo)
The characteristic I like most: effective immediately.
What I like least ....: frankly I do not see, as long as it is used for which it is made: blues, rock, funk-rock or hard rock like old Aerosmith.
The quality / price, I find excellent (moo not in non j'bosse boss)
With the experience I would choose this again, yes I swear!
