UTILIZATION

It is clear that for this type of pedal there is nothing more simple ... so a manual ....
Connected on all guitars available it is not that I prefer one or the other but the cool vintage Telecaster single microphones including deemed harder on overdrive 'and Crunch is a thorn less on the knobs it simplifies a lot and it fills this need, what flexibility!
Now everything is in the title it is a "Pedal Vintage Overdrive" scheduled for this need and this is what I was looking for "vintage item bar.!". So to see the rest of the sign is pretty full ...

SOUND QUALITY

Great sound quality ... very "quiet", a light ... "true bypass" CA IT IS USEFUL! Race of knobs with growth and remarkable sensitivity ... a rather hushed up overdrive the steep enough "(the three knobs can send) so we can vary very beautiful palette!
Tried several amps and combos from 1 to 50 80/Watts see 'boom' a pressure foot on set and go .... "need to go and manually switcher potarder beasts" ... you should know that better than me. OVERALL OPINION

Used for a few months ... tried other course ... I was a little wary because I remembered pedal "low cost" I will not name (some quite good for that matter) to let poor quality and reliability ... there is the hulk.

What is it? From a green overdrive Harley Benton (the house brand at Thomann!) And I bought it specifically to replace a famous green overdrive early 80s (a TS9 for those who follow it) is burnt out after years of good and loyal service (really rinsed in fact). So that's how I was expecting to turn this replacement! Even though for 29 €, I was not a big risk ... Unpacking, we are surprised by the quality feel of the thing which uses the same aluminum housing the pedals "boutique" but with a battery compartment accessible directly, a true bypass switch that inspires confidence and knobs certainly a bit soft for my taste, which have the correct air and equipped with quality buttons. Good screen printing is also nickel, but they could happen monkeys, marked "Vintage Overdrive" would have been enough ... In the controls, it is not out of place since they are identical and in the same order as the TS9, namely Drive, Tone and Level.

UTILIZATION

The use is quite clear, no need for a manual (even if there is one provided). Drive is the growling, the tone changes the tone of the effect, and the Level handles output level. And switch, bah it is true bypass, which means that the input signal is routed directly to the output when the pedal is inactive, not as a boss for example. Extremely simple and effective.

SOUND QUALITY

Needless to beat around the bush, this pedal does exactly what is expected of her: Tube Screamer! At the Drive we are very, very close to the grain of the TS9 is to be mistaken, but it seems it does not go so far in a real TS9 distortion, but for my purpose it is enough because I do not use the overdrive in a range between 10 and 3am on the Drive, if I want more then I use distortion or even a fuzz. The tone control does his job properly, as a TS9 and sufficiently progressive so that RAS side. In contrast to the level setting out, I again felt like my TS9 came out a bit more, but it is more than enough anyway. OVERALL OPINION

The conclusion is simple: why spend more? As for me and after trying a lot of different brands of overdrive and varied (some up to 10x more expensive!), I adopt a pragmatic stance: an overdrive 5x more expensive is it 5x better ? No! And we are far from elsewhere, because it is sometimes the opposite! So in these times of rigor and for the difficult months, I paid the luxury of buying without trying because it is available by mail order on the Thomann site! At this price, I was not a big risk, especially as the practice site "money back" so that I would have returned without any ulterior me if it had not rained, but I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by what I got in terms of sound quality and workmanship. If it again, I would do without hesitation! I also started to seriously squint other pedals € 29 range HB in Thotho ...

Apparently HARLEY BENTON is a registered Thomann house; eh ben hat guys this is a great job for very little money. And she is true bypass, and when the switch is off, it is completely forgotten.

A solid metal housing, a footswitch is also solid, 3 knobs.

I have to adjust the output volume of the pedal low enough if I want to keep a balance between the clean and saturated. So, if it is to type solos, there is a good margin boost to bring out the overdrive sound.

SOUND QUALITY

Connected between a Les Paul and a Fender HotRod Deluxe All Tube, it allows me to avoid using the HotRod saturated channel, which is too vague and "unbalanced" for my taste.

Used on Fender Silver sister mexico, microphones Stew McDonald and Epiphone Les Paul Standard Gibson SG pickups, all on Laney Chrome O area all lamps.
I tested it with a friend on his luthier Mesa Boogie, with its original side, namely the original TS9 (old, not new). Result? is still looking for the difference. OVERALL OPINION

used for 6 months with pleasure, it remains in my set. I tried the Vox Bulldog in my set too, but not at all the same grain. Also tested the Jekyll and Hyde who also has a nice crunch distortion but not terrible.
The price / quality ratio? well it's unbeatable!

UTILIZATION

I use it in tandem with its sister crunch distortion (one for the other for crunch tough) and it is really great with a guitar not too greasy.
For les paul and other heavy I need to replace the crunch distortion by the shockwave jet city to stay clean, but the vintage overdrive comes out masterfully in all cases.

One minute attention, you mentioned two harleys cost a 60 euros and are very well sound quality, while a horror boss dynadrive tax you 30 more ...

SOUND QUALITY

Firstly, this pedal is very transparent, which is a real good point.
However, it is not simply a clone of the Ibanez Tubescreamer from home.

Indeed, although it is recognized affiliation, this pedal has its own character, its sound leg.

I now turn to the analysis of the two master faders:

Drive:
First point, the race is progressive: we start from almost nothing to reach a grain present.
In the first third of the race, you get to have a clean boost. In the second third, a slight overdrive to smear arpeggios. Finally, by pushing the knob fully, it can happen to sing beautifully power chords and other agreements for rhythm.

Tone:
Very useful tone control to act on a range of frequency or another, we can promote the bass or treble. Feels weird on my model: push down the Tone feedback causes uncontrollable and unexplained ... OVERALL OPINION

I tried a few models Overdrive (MXR, ONERR etc. ..) before attempting this one. It stands up very well by its character and unique transparency.
The only flaw we could impute is this lack of gain, but hey, surprisingly ordering a "vintage overdrive" (although it does not want to say anything to the final).

Good pedal that I recommend to those who cross for cheap.
