This is the first pedal made by Mr. Jacques, in this case an overdrive which was modeled on famous architect TS808 which is part of the myth of the electric guitar.
Connectors classic jack in, jack out, and in DC.

UTILIZATION

Usage is easy: a knob to control the bass, a knob for treble, one for determining the rate of gain and the latter to control the output level.
All afternoon, and the pedal sounds right away. Now it will take some time to find every possible sound, all the knobs have a real impact on the sound, as on all the pedals of the brand elsewhere.

SOUND QUALITY

It is an overdrive that goes far enough in the saturation rate, far beyond his illustrious model. Drive to bottom, one is near the very fat overdrive to Led Zep or Aerosmith.
However, as mentioned in other reviews, the overdrive is very different from the TS808 to the extent that it stains a very clear sound, with this compression characteristic of mediums ... I am not a professional or a technician, but I would say the blower tube offers a more "open" more neutral.
By refining the tuning knobs, and provided we use this overdrive on a good tube amp, I think it still hard to believe that the resulting sounds may annoy some players so even if everyone is in Nature.
I play on a Telecaster american vintage hotrod that I plugged into a Mesa Boogie Lonestar special, and whether the next round humbucker bridge or microphone, the sounds are quite convincing.
It fills me especially on rhythmic fast, gain half way, in combination with the bridge pickup. The sound is super sharp, perfect for punk rock bastard ... : O)
For bluesy phrasing with the humbucker next round, I prefer to stay on channel 2 of the amp, even if the blower tube can be done without having to blush.

OVERALL OPINION

I use this pedal for several months, and I have already tested some overdrive to me for many left an aftertaste a bit "synthetic sounds. The TS808 then remained an option of choice, but unfortunately this pedal colors the sound too much for me (obviously very subjective opinion), and provides a level of profit after all limited.
The blower tube then arose as an interesting alternative, it seems to me to be a great overdrive, whose rate remains fairly high (even if it is not at Mad Professor), but which is trading at reasonable prices the second hand market. I recommend!
