Excellent P90 in its rather "tough" without losing its vintage, warm, articulate and very well balanced supporting the crunch and distortion effect without ever becoming rough!
Excellent balance of "P90" coupled with the Alnico V neck position on my Gibson LP'55! The perfect balance!

The wrap: The microphone is the element of the instrument for transforming the vibrations into an electrical signal and thus amplify sound. There are two main types of microphones. First microphones simple (simple for single coil) consists of a magnet (ceramic or AlNiCo alloy-aluminum-nickel-cobalt-) itself surrounded by a copper wire forming the winding. This type of microphone is quite sensitive to interference (electromagnetic fields). To overcome the problem created Gibson in the 1950's humbucking pickups, also known as "humbuckers". The humbucker is simply a combination of micro double reverse, this combination to filter out disturbances by reverse polarization between the two microphones. In addition to these two characteristics microphones can be active or passive, an active micro adopt is similar to a passive microphone, but its signal is directly processed by an amplifier, thus requiring an external power traditionally in the form of batteries. The plates and nuts are nickel / silver to avoid losses in the treble. The plates on Start and Tele pickups are Forbonnais with plates grounded nickel / silver or brass. The nuts of the P-90 pickups are made of nickel with fixing plates nickel / silver or brass.
