- How long have you use it?
Since August 2007
- What is so special that you like most and least?
The +: the sound
The -: the P90 format (but at the same time, not buy a Ferrari to make a bicycle ...)
- Have you tried many other models before buying it?
Gibson P90, a Gibson SG '68 originals (HB), std rock Benedetti, Benedetti SP90, Kent Armstrong PAF, SH8 Seymour Duncan, Fender Telecaster Mex ...
- How would you rate the quality / price?
Unbeatable!
- With experience, you do again this choice? ...
10 to 20 - 30 - 100 times if necessary!
My opinion:
First notice
The neck pickup is a marvel, full of bass when needed, Hyer defined, it can keep the sound typical of microphones simple yet when they nailed him to the chatter of a sudden drop in volume (remember that it is equipped a treble bleed). In short for me this little mic is a total success. I only regret that it can go directly into my guitar to the palces of HB ... But how to have a microphone and exceptional facilities the same time??
The micro chevlaet leaves me a little more confused ... It must be said that if I am a fan of P90 in neck, I am a strong supporter of micro HB bridge ... The sound is perfect in my opinion out of the mix in a group or funky tapper in games. It is still less comfortable in areas saturated agreement ... I must say that my sound is naturally very acute, that may be charging a little more in the low midrange the microphone could speak a little more ... Where the handle clean sounds at all points of view, the bridge seems to destroy the play more. It has an enormous charm, however, in that register.
Where the microphones are all their flavor, it is in their complementarity when playing the two together. There is no doubt that one of the focus has been on this complementarity. The sound is super defined and not suffer from any flaw! We can even play the game sound more hardu by farting watts and ears at the same time, pushing the dB and the gain. The machine monitors and performs an outstanding job. In the field of clean sounds, again the whole place is very high and perfectly happy anyone wants to hear his guitar ... I am talking of course a feeling of total obliteration of microphones in front of the guitar. The sound that comes out is this balance that we forget the micro amp and to focus on the strings.
If the tube amps do not suffer any wandering in the game, the microphones KCPI - specifically in the neck position and neck + bridge - are put at the same stage: the little things that make all great!
2nd opinion
Tests this time with repeats.
The only difference: I set the amp, which simply means that I pushed the master volume to half of its flight! (The amp is a Marshall JCM800 - 1959 MKII - master volume added)
And what?
In rehearsals, we played these songs here:
Red Hot Chili Peppers: I Could Have Lied, Coffee Shop, Around The World
Rage Against The Machine: Killing In The Name
FFF: The best and worst
Lenny Kravitz: Always on the run, Are you gonna go my way
and other pieces ...
In short, I withdraw what I said about the slightly P90 destroy the bridge: He made me love the P90 in bridge ...
And none of these songs I had to hit the amp or any pedal (except Boost for Soli and whawha). From clean to I Could Have Lied (turning down the volume) to Killing In The Name supercharged, they darken as gusts of air force, resulting in their paths of vortices!
I put 9 / 10 because perfection does not exist ... But it comes close by micro all points!
