Published on 06/10/10 at 14:59I use it for 1 year in a studio rather complex (4 01V96 networked to a 02R96), we have not tried other material because for this type of network audio, it always seemed that the EtherSound was the best solution.
What convinced us to turn to this technology is total freedom for routing between different digital consoles. It also appeared that the economy is considerable cables! We replaced all the noodles that would run under the floor by a single Ethernet cable between each machine. At first it's dizzying. Then you get used to.
The counterpart is a sharp dive in the world of digital patch. If you are familiar with this technology or if you are a bit resourceful computer and network audio, okay, otherwise overheating neurons in sight!
Fortunately, the manual is very comprehensive and provides configuration examples very useful. A must read.
It should be noted that the guys from Avitran are highly available and do not hesitate to move to help. Nice.
In this connection, the manufacturer regularly updates its software control system (only for PC Argh!)
The price / quality ratio is exceptional in terms of features but totally out of proportion for a medium sized home studio.
With hindsight, and for our use, it has become the heart of our studio.
+ The routing possibilities (infinite)
+ The reliability (24/24 runs)
+ Complete monitoring device (temperature, fan speed, ...)
+ Ability to "be forgotten" once configured.
+ Increasing compatibility with major manufacturers (Yamaha, Nexo, ...)
- Chero (but offset by a sharp decline in budget cables)
- The new, "computer", confusing for regular cable.

High-performance tracking customer (thank you hot-line and especially Olivier): following problem with an update, I had a tech directly on the phone who I emailed my config file patch, it reminded me 10 minutes later and stayed with me until resolution of the problem. Thank you guys!
