My previous laptop was also a VAIO and I was very happy so why change brands.
It is small (13'3) and lightweight, perfect for work everywhere, making live recording in small rooms ...
A flat port still does not have firewire Texas Instruments chipset, so I had to switch to USB sound card. Anyway today is no longer a problem and the port is perfect for my external drive.
Although it is a bit expensive to buy but the power and quality at a price.
I would definitely do it again this choice /
