First off, this thing is really sturdy. It feels like it could drop off a high table and not suffer any damage. The thing I like most about this unit however is that ease of setup and the ability to change the "buttons" functions with the included editor. There is really no installation to speak of as it is plug and play. I had to set it up in ableton but that was easy as well. The "buttons" are sturdy feeling but offer no "click" like other similar pedals. The added expression input is also very awesome. I use this to control the "up/down/play" feature in Ableton. The only thing to mention about dislikes is how small the unit is. It's faceplate is about as big as a King Size Hershey's candy bar. At first this was a big put off as the buttons are pretty close to each other and can accidentally be triggered. However, after realizing the best place for this pedal was in my Guitar Pedal Case, I was actually pleased with how little room it needed on my already packed pedal case.
As for value, you won't find a cheaper Midi pedal in production. The build is great too so it is definitely a good deal. I have used a few different midi pedals including Rolls midi buddy and Behringer FCB. This one surpasses those others in my opinion. I definitely recommend this unit and plan on buying another to control the "looper" function in ableton.

So here I received it yesterday and the beast I've been looking this morning at the post. 3 weeks to arrive from the States, that's fine.
Beware, it cost me another 30 bhp (20 €) VAT and customs clearance ...

I open the (tiny) box and I leave the UMI3, as long and wide as my hand when we say crank flashlights, it's not figuratively =)
The finish is nickel, it is very nice, all black with gray buttons. Although it is tiny, the buttons are spaced enough to not be wrong (unless you have the feet of the big foot).
Small disappointment, no USB cable supplied, so I have to take one of my external hard drive for $ 70, it's a shame nonetheless.

I plug on my macbook pro, no driver required, direct recognition by Ableton Live 8. It should still download the software manufacturer's site to configure it. It is very intuitive (but it is in English), but it is very intuitive (see forum for details). Also in the ingenious concept!

I bought it for me not to lug my huge FCB1010 all the time, I use it to launch scenes in Live. Button 1 to stage up, button 2 to button 3 to play and down stage. Simple, practical and effective.

Good buy although a little pricey without a USB cable (it should not be that expensive). I put 9 because of the cable.

I was looking for the most simple and convenient midi controller&nbsp;<span style="font-size: 13.63636302948px; line-height: 19.6000003814697px;">pedal</span>&nbsp;possible and I&nbsp;found it. These days it's very difficult to find a simple and effective product. This product checks all the boxes; I can easily control <a rel="nofollow" href="/ableton/live/?utm_source=audiofanzine&utm_medium=link&utm_campaign=netting&utm_content=product&utm_term=Ableton+Live" target="_blank">Ableton Live</a> (scenes + looper etc.) and the software allows to configure the controller as needed.
My only criticism would concern the metal switches, which are a bit noisy if you step hard on them. That said, it's a solid product.
I strongly recommend it.
