Great for home, not a great output for gigs
Published on 02/05/16 at 08:01I'm a new vinyl dj with only 1.5 years under my belt. After a disaster with some discount needles, I purchased a pair of these, encouraged by the reviews and price. For a long time I thought I was the smartest dj on the block, they sound great on mix recordings and on my home monitor and I was spending far less on the cart/stylus combo pack then most of my friends were on there needles. On top of sounding great at home and on mixes I liked the nice bright stylus making it easier to spot your exact drop point at dark gigs.
But speaking of gigs, I kept getting asked why I play so quiet. "I don't" I would say, I play to 7 but don't redline like everyone else does, I'm right and they're …Read moreI'm a new vinyl dj with only 1.5 years under my belt. But speaking of gigs, I kept getting asked why I play so quiet. "I don't" I would say, I play to 7 but don't redline like everyone else does, I'm right and they're wrong" I'd say or thing. Until finally a good friend in the know approached me and told me it wasn't me but likely my needles output. Now I haven't looked up the supposed output of these but it made so much sense that I did finally end up replacing these. Again, sound fine at home and mixes sound great, but my output was to the same level as everyone else on the mixer but softer out of the speaker with these.

Excellent cell
Published on 02/24/13 at 13:18 (This content has been automatically translated from French)How long have you been using?
Since 2007
Did you try many other models before buying it?
Ortofon Concord and OM (elektro, pro-s, pro, scratch ...) Shure M44-7, 680 Stanton, Stanton 500 and so on ...
What is so special that you like most and least?
PLUS: The original look, its sound quality (beautiful treble, beautiful well rounded bass, flat mids ...) sound very similar to the M44-7 say otherwise excellent! And especially do not damage the vinyl as a ortofon!
LESS: Less good grip on the groove that M44-7 but very good for the mix ... for fans of scratch, I think this is not the appropriate cell!
How do you rate the quality / price?

Price is not excessive I saw the quality of the product
With experience, you do again this choice?
Yes, but ... for those who already have M44-7 (which is my case) do not change, if not for aesthetics, as they "stick" better in a whitelabel vinyl and are more powerful (9 , 5mV for M44-7 and 6.5 mV for whitelabel!) For other practicing mainly mix go really!See less30 - JimboSpins
sounds similar to the CC-1
Published on 02/20/13 at 03:48The Shure White label is a light weight turntable cartridge that has a high visibility stylus. This cartridge is one of the newest ones that I just purchased. The design of it is very attractive, it is sleek and easy to work with and it has great tracking for time coding my vinyl records. This cartridge is great for digital DJ’s as well. This cartridge sounds great too, it does not color the sound and has a very club sound too it but it does not over exaggerate the low end and bass frequencies like some performance cartridges tend to do. But with that being said I do not recommend using this cartridge for battle action because it does not provide enough low end for me. But it does have very clear mids and highs and sounds great in a club. It is also very light on my vinyl leaving it scratch free.
The White label comes in a case and is easy to install and start using right way. It comes with a small guide to show you everything you need to know if you are a new but in my case I didn't need a manual or guide. This cartridge can also be compared to the Numark CC-1 in sound quality but not in design and feel. The sounds are very similar though as I have both of them and use both of them on a regular basis now. I do prefer the White Label from Shure of the Numark CC-1 though because of the design and feel of it. I do wish the sound had a little more low end though and could be used in a battle situation or when I am pumping up a jam packed club. I have been using this cartridge for few weeks now and so far I am very pleased.
