Croatian Dawner Prince Effects debuts with two guitar stompboxes, respectively named Diktator and Starla.
Diktator combines a preamp to an overdrive/distortion effect, and offers two channels. Detonator channel is dedicated to the overdrive and is described as versatile, with the ability to take your guitar sound from light crunch to fat overdrive and distortion. Two switches allow for shaping the sound (tone and gain) and an active 2-band tone control will cut or boost frequencies you wish. Last, a Dynamic-O-Meter (the Dikator’s eye) will visually meter the dynamics response.
The second channel, Fuse, can be used in standalone as a preamp for thickening the sound of the guitar or boost the amp to overdrive, but it can also be combined to the Detonator channel if you wish to boost the level of the instrument, for solo parts for instance.
The Diktator pedal can be powered in 9 –18V. It is available for $219.
Dawner Prince Effects second creation is Starla, an analog tremolo to be controlled via a digital tap tempo, which uses a microprocessor and optical technology.
The stompboxes features a depth controls that acts as a signal booster when set to minimum, a velocity knob combined to a Multiplier switch (1/3/2), a volume control and 8 different waveforms.
A Sync port with internal jumper allows Starla to communicate with other pedal, if you want to control the tremolo speed externally for example. It also features a true bypass and requires 9 – 12V of power. Starla retails for $234.
