«  unreliable? series or bad? »

Hello! I make the sound reproduction systems SINGING WOODS. These systems require an amp (I usually recommend the tube while it is for the stage or HiFi). I was looking for a customer a small amp speaker and a basic mixer (mic and a CD player to go). By browsing on the net, I found the PM400 Thomann. Small, cheap and filling out the specifications. On my first call, there was only one model in stock B. In an emergency (between parties), so I commanded.

Received about a week later the power amp was HS ... Return and exchange against a new one this time ... On the second: the preamp was HS (power amp, he worked) ... Second and third return copy (sent by a technician without formality nice that agreed with me that the joke had gone on long enough. I note in passing that I discussed with him in order to find the cause of the fault, being an engineer myself in the party and native English speaker, it really helped for discussion)! ..

Feverishly, and I plug the lights ... => NOTHING!
I hesitated for a moment, thinking to open the window and throw the gear ... Then I remembered the discussion with the techno, I had already mentioned problems occurring with the output jack for auxiliary amplifier which is located at the back of the PM400 ... So I "poking" with a jack in and ... Intermediate position (Jack pressed halfway) miracle, the amp works!

Here! So to summarize: I think the PM400 is a good concept for small uses such as my lecturer. Power 150w / 4ohms is sufficient for small rooms (with SINGING WOODS behind it beeps in a room with 500 seats no problem). The price is hot (less than 100 euros) ... But the beast is random!

TMIX then, if you could solve these problems of reliability, you have a great product!

Cordially.
