I have used for 2 years, and performance taient really pathetic ... It heats much for what he does. For the same price range, it is far better to take a Duron. I accidentally forget to plug the fan, so it was overheating. I replaced by an Athlon XP 3200 + Barton. The price for j'tais content. To convert an album of 100 MB MP3 WMA puts aproximation 3 / 4 minutes (with a card-Mre ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe 1GB Corsair in Dual DDR 400).
Regardless of the Socket A is for the Duron, the Athlon 1600, or Athlon XP 3200 +, it's not a good investment right now, in the sense that the socket is produced cards motherboards AGP port, whereas the current standard is the PCI-E (PCI Express).
In conclusion this processor can satisfy a small configuration, the field of office, or playing multimedia home server, but do not expect to run large applications.
I put 6 for the price o lpoque silent about it.
