Ampeg SVT-IIP

In my opinion it lacks an effects loop ...

UTILIZATION

Like any self respecting Ampeg, you do not spend 3am to find his sound. Even with the eq "flat" and without the graphic eq, the sound is already good and with any bass. The graphic eq and filters add a significant façconner for extreme or unusual sounds. I tried a lot of amps in my career, and Ampeg all were the easiest to adjust intuitively, this one is no exception to this rule. The sound signature of the typical Ampeg while heat and grunt with formidable fishing! It's hard to describe objectively, but those who know his Ampeg know what I mean ...

SOUNDS

I use this amp only studio setup with an HP calculator. Never made a scene with. I used it with many different basses, always with the same happiness. Thanks to the many adjustment possibilities, the sounds that can be obtained are unlimited but my only regret is that it "twists" not enough easily when you push the gain, forcing to push too far, bringing a hair and breath noise but nothing insurmountable ... That said, some well-selected 12AX7 enable a pretty good distortion, for my part I rode 3 NOS Mullard (data not true) and it's frankly good joke!

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for fifteen years and has no particular sign of fatigue, no faults to report either, at most a fuse to change once! He had 3 sets of different tubes over time, but it was just to find the most suitable tubes, otherwise the longevity of a 12AX7 would have been enough for me to never change!
Excellent quality made in USA. Paid little expensive at the time where a quality / great price. It would be to do again, I would sign immediately! An excellent tool for the studio when we seriously want to record a bass!

OVERALL OPINION

Used for a year systmatique Fawn, using this directly on the Tagus prampli power amplifier arrangement of RPET by zapping the prampli incorporated and my stack Personal is the day and night over some pramplis incorporated.
Bought used nice price, Retube for cheap, trs trs good investment!

UTILIZATION

Ampeg config in very very simple!
Possibility of a sharp boost, a boost bass, super efficient

SOUNDS

Ampeg is the sound, whatever one may say. Of course, if you are looking for the SVT Classic, you will not be there ... But pending some € 2,000 for the nine, this small preamp will color a very professional way your sound.

I use it with two completely different bassouilles a Jacobacci JB 200 of 1977, and a Marcus Miller Jazz Bass. well with different settings for the girls, the sound is still there!

It really gets any kind of tone, and midrange Frequency allows you to really find the sound for you ...

However, as usual with Ampeg, "all 12" is still its worth in terms of setting .. This sounds really!

To play often in coffee concert, I can assure you that many current amp does not take well the road in front of my little clothing ... (IIP MonSVT and an amp QSC RMX 850)

Now I probably get "my sound"!

The peculiarity is that I found "my sound" Everywhere I go with my SVT IIP

I try a lot of preamp, then lean towards the SVTIIP. Well, no one gave me the impression of that one ... (Besides, the largest model Ampeg preamp, but quickly become expensive ...)

A quality / price ratio Excellent, given the performance of the corny!

With experience, I do it again though obviously this choice!
