The other big news at Akai’s for this Musikmesse 2014 is the MPX16 sampler, that our team went to discover this morning.
The Akai MPX16 is a portable device designed to play and record sound samples in WAV format to an SD card. The big brother of the MPX8 features 16 MPX-style pads but you can also trigger the sounds externally via a MIDI or USB MIDI controller.

- 2 balanced 1/4” inputs
- Internal microphone
- Internal processor with ADSR envelopes, filters, tune, Choke groupe and more
- WAV recorder to SD card
- LCD display
- MIDI DIN in and out
- USB or external power supply
The MPX16 will the available this summer for the US price of $199.99.
