The new technology was released in June this year as part of Reason 6.5, has been met with great enthusiasm from the developer community. The list of committed developers working on new devices for Reason grows by the day.
Rack Extensions are integrated with Propellerhead’s Reason and Reason Essentials music making software and are designed to use Reason’s features such as unlimited undo, built-in integrated patch browser, parameter automation and compatibility with hardware controllers.
All Rack Extensions are available exclusively through the Propellerhead Shop. Distribution, payment solutions, hosting, installation, upgrades and registration is taken care of, also for developers who want to provide their creations for free to the Reason user base. The Rack Extension SDK comes with code examples, graphical assets, automated testing and documentation. Propellerhead also provides development support.
Companies interested in developing their own Rack Extensions can register at www.propellerheads.se/developer.
