Best Snare I own
Published on 10/01/15 at 23:45Drummer many years..a lifetime. I jam occasionally but have a drum studio with thousands of play-along-tracks. Out of about 12 snares, a couple high end, but all quality this is my go to snare. It is a copy of Ferrone's Black Beauty he played early on. This thing is a monster in any tuning but not suited for jazz in my mind. But from hard bashing rock and high tuned funk it does it all. A gigging downside could be weight, so original '67 ludwig does that job. But it is the weight and mass that makes this such a versatile snare. Only the Sonor Phil Rudd signature comes close with better snare sensitivity but the tone of Ferrone wins out. I haven't played the Gretsch model so don't know about…Read moreDrummer many years..a lifetime. I jam occasionally but have a drum studio with thousands of play-along-tracks. - batteur-tamaPublished on 01/24/10 at 04:52 (This content has been automatically translated from French)I use it recently, I had a snare Pork Pie acrylic and DW in Saddle before. Now I also have a Ludwig supersensitive.
To me this snare is also exceptional in terms of its aesthetics and in terms, it is a rel happiness after you snare SSAI other "high end".
She has a very warm sound like snare drums ludwig (often warmer than most woods) and when it rings beautifully played in a side or cross stick stick!
I bought used since it is no longer available. The quality price ratio very good silent (225).
I remake that choice without hesitating!00
