UTILIZATION

Simple enough, we must get used the EQ if you do not know the Neve 1073 EQ.

SOUND QUALITY

Its magic on everything: voice, guitars, drums, percussion ...

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 6 months. APRs have cost a lot of pramps: Chandler, Neve, Great River, API, etc.. My choice is on the port Stereo exeptionnel MODEL. For a little more than a single high-end pramp one has a stro bill almost perfectly with the more open than 1073. Unfortunately it is not yet distributed in France.

Analog technology transistor in class A, transformer input and output (not the case with re-editions Neve I think it).

Neve preamp inspiration (Geoff, the designer at Neve bossé 14, look at the head of U.S. criticism ... its full range).

This is a dual preamp / EQ DI.
The équalo has 3 bands with a choice of the frequency of the medium (3 positions: 400Hz, 1,600 Hz and 3.200 Hz).
There is a button for the phantom power supply, bypassing the équalo and high pass filters and phase inversion.

XLR microphone inputs (rear), inputs (front) of the instruments in Jack.
The outputs XLR and jack (rear).

There is a switch (rear) which regulates the level of output.

Rack-mount model that seems unbreakable, deep and heavy (482.6mm x 44.45mm x 279.4mm) ...

This is the model "mkIII" in French spec (220V).

UTILIZATION

The manual states above the level of different channels of audio.

Otherwise there is not much to say at use

Editing is very simple: four knobs and shoo ...

I'm using more and more to the mix this rack on a guitar buss, for example. I go through the XLR (behind the rack), the same as pick-up, I put the entry knob to 0, the output knob at the bottom and is on a fantastic guitar. Try also other buss (drums, keyboard). This brings an incredible punch. If you push the entry level sound will become "fat" or saturated, and the EQ is just a dream!

A rack really suitable for any sauces, just excellent!

SOUND QUALITY

For the first tests done quickly, it sounds !!!!!!!!

There's color when it comes in! The preamp is "Nevien" the équalo too.

I must soon resume recording sessions, I will therefore complement those taken after the notice of drums, bass, guitar, vocals, synth, sax and percussion ...

After a first use in repeated (but repeated passes through a Soundscape DAW, Apogee converters, return headphones studio conditions), the sound of my voice seems to be "massive", with a presence and an impressive foundation in the bass, treble but there are soft, not aggressive for a penny. Mediums rich stretch from what we make of équalo and selection of bende (on a dedicated switch on the front).
Wait to try it on acoustic drums as we rehearse on e!
I'll come complete it all!

After endless studio sessions:
-Its incredible battery (bass drum and snare drum)
-Its amazing on acoustic guitars
-His hallucination on the strings (violin and cello)
His on-EBOURRIFFANT low

So I wonder if I will not take a second ...

OVERALL OPINION

It's just two days I have already I feel that this will be my preamp to do everything

Assets:
- We can all spend in (the bass drum to the most slender of votes , To the bass and synths, all in stereo ... ).
- Price: 2249 Euros (shipping and insurance included, in http://www.audioprice.com of Paris, so the first French importer of the beast).
- The ability to use both in making that final mix

Minimum: uh ...

Before purchasing the machine, I eyed the side of some modules or Brent Averill Neve 1073 but having to buy the modules and the 1073 case bothered me a little, especially at a price just for a little elitist channel .
There is less than a channel and in addition there are 2 with DI!

Excellent value for money, I would do this choice with his eyes closed
