I have one of these splashes for 8 years, bought second hand.
It is not very typical splash because it generates low-frequency (Manus Katché budding, go your way) but it's much more versatile. I use splash in high volume, and as a crash at low volume. Because of its sound, it blends better in a set of crash, during a "down" for example.
I played other more typical splash, and if you can afford to have lots of cymbals, it sure is better (at least in the style of Dave Weckl: super accurate, not to diffuse in two !).
At 300 francs at the time (okaz!) Is a bargain! A 100 or 150 euros, I would hesitate a little more. And now that I have the means, I would prefer something more distinctive.
Overall rating: 8 / 10 (very good stuff, versatile, but precisely, versatile ...)
