Value For Money :
Excellent
Series of Pro-Mod San Dimas and So-Cal is now made in Mexico. There a few years this series came from Japan, quality is different, only a comparative trial could answer! Should have two guitars on hand for that.
1HS the HT model, as its name suggests, presents a simple microphone in the neck position and a double bridge, which is fixed when the HT (hardtail). Seymour Duncan pickups brand is a simple STK-S6, often stacked to eliminate noise and double color zebra JB, slap!
The neck is maple (quatersawn) with a rosewood fingerboard, 22 frets very well mounted and polished, locking tuners. The handle features a super nice satin finish, left hand slides alone. Otherwise electronic side is ultra simple, a volume knob and a three position switch.
UTILIZATION
The neck is thin, it is a highway, with a radius offset, so in "C" level nut and flattens more we progress towards the heel, it is not confusing at all is very nice for the To play the body shape is the stratabound, more indented, alder body is light, the guitar is well balanced.
The guitar sounds good vacuum, so guarantee of good sound when plugged ...
SOUNDS
Then there is the slap, for those who think that this guitar is made for big sounds, they all good! But not that. The neck pickup sounds great in the register Strat, I was surprised. One can easily play a good blues greasy, or turning down the volume a more sophisticated sound. This side also good point, the volume is very progressive.
Intermediate position is more slamming, without being funky, but it's interesting. Then in the bridge position that sending wood micro JB is for something, it's rock, Eddy here we come! Harmonics fuse, the microphone is punchy, it tears.
I personally am not metalheads, I'm pretty rock and I can say that this guitar is cut out for this register.
Plugged into a good amp this guitar will give its full potential.
OVERALL OPINION
I tried this Charvel last year at the Musikmesse Frankfurt, with the other models in the Pro-Mod, it has me immediately caught the eye, I am not a big fan of Floyd that's why this choice. And pickups config is very original and very usable. The So-Cal is more oriented towards the metal, with two Duncan Distortion. As for the third model, it is less attractive, but it is my personal opinion.
Guitar very good value for money, as shown at 690 € on average, but found last year in Europe. Well, almost since I found, quite by chance, it must be said!
The store I féquente demand provider since last year, but so far nothing, nada, nothing! She went out in the month of June 2013 in our lands!!
If you are not sealed to the Atlantic command, you can find the states in Cygnus' because no pro seller of this country will not provide you this new guitar, not competition forces.
Two negative points: rarity on the European market and the settings will be j'te shoot. Mine has undergone a complete setting string heights, accuracy, intonation etc ...
Apart from this detail, very good guitar to recommend for those who want a little off the beaten path.
