Fender vintage vibrato.
Channel 62, rounded and rather late, radius 7.25 ". Year built: 1991.
21 frets.
To the left is a Start.
UTILIZATION
The neck is super easy. The previous owner had left the strings of origin, type of chewing gum from my point of view, I had to tighten after climbing a set .011 - .052, according to the theory of "bow and arrow." ..
The ergonomics and access to high frequencies are those of a Start. I find that the original pickups produce a sound shrill, uninteresting, flat.
However, the advantage is that the MIJ Fender violin is similar to Fender MIUSA. So I changed the pickups, pots and capacity. Complicated and not well justified on this guitar is in mint condition, but virtually never performed, freight and general testify.
SOUNDS
I mounted a set of Bare Knuckle pickups custom, not yet included in the catalog. I am a guinea pig, so to speak. They are faithful reproductions of the famous "L Series". £ 165, although only slightly more expensive than Fender so-called equivalent (57/62), producing less roundness and sweetness. They will only appear in the catalog and received them in a box set of Mother's Milk. I must admit that it is worthwhile to discuss directly with Tim Mills. He has a solution to everything, as long as you explain exactly what you want.
I play blues and rock, funk and some pop. Thus equipped, the guitar has become a marvel. In particular, to play Hendrix, SRV, Dire Straits (Knophler) ...
The qualities of violin combined with those of electronics make it an exceptional instrument. I could compare it yesterday because it torments me with an American Hot Rod '62 appearance of completely identical. The owner initially thought it was the same and I let him believe, but when I played alone, then accompanying it, it was found that my sounds were something special, I know not what they are looking but could not get it. He said the production Fender is not constant. When I showed him the MIJ, said the prices come back and given explanations, his surprise and I really enjoyed his comments. I play with some tube amps and have many effects, but this comparison was made in store, two Fender Blues Deluxe.
OVERALL OPINION
Says it all. I doubt to find the same occasion, but if necessary and if possible, I would start the process without hesitation. I try several guitars a week. The price / quality ratio is unbeatable and I love everything. Super electronic
