Published on 11/22/11 at 10:44Jackson guitars are pretty much a shredder metal player's guitar. They generally feature wild and funky head stocks such as this one with the pointed headstock that doesn't really go with country or indie rock music. The kind of person who would grab these guitars would be a hard rock or metal type guy. These Jackson guitars have a very nice comfortable neck with a bolt on maple wood. It's a very comfortable neck and overall a great feel for shredding in solo playing. This guitar features a alder wood body as well and EMG pickups which give it a great metal sound.

SOUNDS
The tone of thi guitar is pretty good for anything hard rock and up. The median balance gets a nice frequency response in the mid range area. Since it has very high output active pickups you to get a good EQ all way across the frequency board with the bottom and low of the pick ups with that nice mid range wood tone. Overall it's a very cool guitar if you like the shredding look for the guitar and buy large pretty well balanced guitar. This guitar does not feature Floyd Rose bridge which many Jackson guitars do so if you need something where you're to be able to pull off and on the tremolo system then this is not to be the guitar for you.
OVERALL OPINION
At new you can find these guitars for rider around $800 or so. So for the used section you could probably find them right around $400-$500 in this downtime gear market. It's a cool guitars for the money if you really like this type of look otherwise I would go with a normal Fender Stratocaster type guitar.
