MGR/redleg-arty
« Peavey Raptor Plus EXP »
Published on 01/16/04 at 15:00I bought my Raptor from Strings and Things in Memphis, TN, for $159.00 Plus tax.
My favorite feature is the humbucking pickup in the bridge position,it really adds a new deminsion of tone to the guitar. It has a slim, fast neck, and the frets ends are fairly smooth. it also has Schaller locking tuners, a big plus when compared to some entry level guitars.
My biggest problem is the output jack nut loosens on me periodically. An available maple fretboard would have been nice, too.
For an entry level guitar it is nice, the finish is very durable, so far. the neck joint has about 1/16 th overlap on the bottom cutaway but does not cause any problems.
A very good guitar. While I have considered trading it in to upgrade, I haven't actually done it. I think I'll hold on to it and wait till I can afford to upgrade out-right and just keep this one.
