This will do several years that I use microphones for Van Zandt Stratocaster.
I could compare them with Fender pickups * Vintage (~ 1970) and Contemporary * (~ 1990).
At the sound, they are as I expected: cooler than Vintage Fender pickups, but I think they are closer to the microphones that Fender Vintage pickups like those of younger roots of my Stratocaster Usa 1991, these fellows who were a little too "bling bling" (pronounced Treble) for my taste.
I do not know if this is due to manufacture enough "craft" of Van Zandt (winding handmade ...) but they do not issue its parasite!
Whether for the differences of positions of the selectors of microphones, where when I use the chorus effects etc. ... (Some microphones that I could have had her a "parasite" of course: a constant signal of microphone (except the microphone volume to zero) that was intended that the movement of an effect (Ex: Chorus) without ringing rope. It was not disturbing, but I'm glad I did not have that with Van Zandt.)
Finally on the type of sound from these microphones:
That would be "neutral" to speak quickly.
I'm kind of a perfectionist about his desire to almost ("almost", though) use a graphic equalizer to my sound, but its level of color is nickel.
Mediums are really well proportioned to my tastes.
Treble, I think such a measure. Is certain: bridge pickup it clear in his Braille, but I'm not a guitarist Country, clear sounds I play on the neck pickup, I'm still in love besides the delicacy of this neck pickup single coil clean sound.
There may be a slight bump on the lower mid / bass I think.
Grossomodo it sounds neutral and I love nothing more valuable to me a sound that sounds like that naturally.
Today I no longer use the bridge pickup Van Zandt, I set in place a humbucker Seymour Duncan vintage home.
I play in a register quite Heavy, a double bridge looks better for the Palm mute, and makes it easier for certain techniques such as the output level is higher. Better for styles that demand much of heaviness that speed, keeping the sound quality of a single coil neck for clear sound, or solos "felted".
But the bridge pickup is single coil Van Zandt Blues to Hard nickel.
I never use the mic positions with the medium, but it made me look very good for the rhythmic pop [...]
I have no idea of the price they actually come from an exchange, but the quality is there, we hear.
The pickups wound to the hand, is something.
I would do this if I choose to do it again.
