The housing 15D is the addition of the XM series monitors. It integrates with a system based on 2-5 series satellites XM XM8D logically, in my case a pair of XM10D, as we build a 2.1 or 5.1.
The box is just like the XM one of the same brand and digital active speaker. Its woofer is 15 "and amplification offers 600 watts RMS to meet the larger rooms. So it is a true sub, powerful and dedicated to very low frequencies only.
This sub was finally a reasonable cost in relation to the quality of its construction and its power reserve. I found no equivalent on the market home studio, the Dynaudio sub is very far short of a technical point of view. In addition, this type of product does not win very popular with the public or amateur, I highly recommend the few potential buyers to turn to this product, if they want to feel a sensation when the very echo low frequencies.

SOUNDS

It does not assess the quality of a sub with its sound reproduction. A Sub is observed at low frequencies by a thud and feelings of waves at very low frequencies. In short, it means very little when running alone.
Once connected to a monitoring system of quality, the sub provides sensations that one encounters only rarely. It should of course apply a high pass filter on the satellites so that the cabinet take the baton. The assembly is then perfectly clear and pure and the feel the sub, clearly visible if one leaves the power to speak in a respectable parts on the surface, are obvious.
Listening to some recordings reveal hidden dimensions. Attention to mix on low frequencies is noticed immediately. In home theater, if the DVD has only rarely received audio quality, it is still impressed with the sensations obtained through the sub. Until the advent of Blu-ray, which promises a retranscritpion uncompressed soundtrack.
In short, whether for music lovers or the sound engineer who works for low frequencies and, unlike what can be accepted, a box provides more doubt that it would be wrong to neglect. The Sub 15D perfectly fulfills this role with power and relevance.

OVERALL OPINION

I have my system FAR for 6 months. I invite you to read my opinion on XM10D.
In this price range but quite relieved not excessive, there is no equivalent product on the market. I remind you that FAR produces materials for professionals. It is with a digital system Dynaudio AIR, with a more reasonable cost and quality that the rest of my point above.
Regarding the sub, there is no equivalent to € 2500. I recommend it to all those who already have a system to monitor quality and willing to work the very low frequencies.
Owners of XM, given the numerical integration of the Sub, it seems completely necessary in terms of feelings and anecdotal made in terms of cost when it has at least one pair of XM and software to manage all this.
Unambiguously, the sub FAR 15d home appears to be the benchmark in its class.
As for my 2.1 system, really impressive.
