Friday's Freeware: Full process
This week, audio processing fans can point their mouse nose to Betty Middle for Mac and AAMS on Windows.
Betty Middle is the first CIS DSP Factory plug-in available for Mac OS X, in VST and AU formats (a Windows version is also expected). The plug-in is a stereo enhancer based on a Mid/Side processing matrix. It features a "Center Bass" option and a correlation meter. You can adjust the stereo width up to 200%, and work on mono (Mid), Side and or sum the channels. A special X-Over filter extends the mono signal available frequency range from 10Hz to 22.5kHz.
Betty Middle is available for free download from www.chrisivanschrago.at.
For Windows users, Denis van der Velde announced that AAMS, his Automatic Audio Mastering Suite with built-in DSP, is now available for free. The software uses reference audio files (via a database or using your own reference files) and compare them to the audio file you want to process. The built-in DSP will then proceed to all the calculations required for the master creation. The software can be used both by those who want quick results and users who want to learn the basics of mastering. A full documentation as well as tutorials, audio and video examples are available at www.curioza.com.
Have a great week-end !
