SOUNDS

I play rock ind-pop rock and some blues with two guitars trs diffrent:

A-fender telecaster japan with microphones not terrible

> Clean channel and neck pickup position or intermdiaire, we get a blues sound, reggae / ska surprising: very hot, "comfortable" and just slamming into intermdiaire. The crunch is not bad if you push too much volume. Pass a certain level, the worst crunch is really too rough and not harmonic.

> Channel distortion: not bad for the Rhythmic with the gain in the middle, beyond has become a bit messy.
I prcise the micro needle is really my T trs crillard. So we go over the CATEGORY.

A Gibson-standard ltd edition 2004 with burstbuckers pro:
> Clear: same remark with the neck pickup and intermdiaire position: it is warm and well Dfine time. A good lil blues is welcome.
But the crunch of default remains the same, except with the gibson pickups, the crunch comes much tt (question-level output). Not easy to have a clear trs if not play it easy and if not lower the volume of the microphones.

Its quite Tranchand a little but not too vintage.
For if you push too much against the gain, even as default prcedemment: a pure win without actually winning round or potato.

OVERALL OPINION

In conclusion:

the amp used only suitable use for clean sounds blues.
For distos, it will do in the not too brutal rhythmic rock> mtallo abstain.
In my opinion too many solos for prcis Defines precision and fans.
I use this amp for several years, I bought with my electric Premire scratches (on TV).
I think for beginners, it's a good dj amp, which made it clear what a the "lamp", which sounds not small (HP 12 ") and is not the forget, a good sound also makes me want to play.

After a few years of practice and with a scratched suprieur level, it is so much change for an amp that fear my gibson breathe: but what? J'rflchis ....

NB: closer to the opinion on the H & K tube 20 (a priori it is the same amp, with a design diffrent)

Amp both "all light" (2 EL84 and two 12AX7) of 20 watts of RMS power (and believe me, the fact!) With an HP Celestion Vintage RockDriver Pro 12 ".
Connectivity complte: 1 guitar input, 1 from a footswitch (not supplied an outlet for HP ...), supplmentaire (8-16 Ohms), an effects loop send-return and Red Box Out Di taken for registration.
Rglages on faade: Equalizer 3-band common to both channels, reverb, 1 volume + 1 master for the clean channel, gain 1 + 1 master for the Lead channel.

UTILIZATION

Setup could not be more simple, but requires a (small) work adjustment depending on the type of guitar ... is that the amp reconnat a great class!
To help, the rglages "basic" you are on a doc.Trs Submitted useful for those who do not know the amp lights!
Sound, clear above, vary widely among SETTING THE qualiseur and master pots.

SOUNDS

The tube 20 H & K is not an amp or other polyvalent.Amateur of mtal distos, go your way. We are talking about an amp for blues-rock-jazz. The clean channel delivers crystal clear sound trs, chauds.Le overdrive channel is typ-rock bluesy "Southern" with plenty of sustain.
If the use is limited to small rooms, 20 watts worth the transistors 60 a combo!
Whether with microphones single, double or even piezo (acoustic obligation) in rings.
No problem.
I do not becaufe the ten IDAL no, he parat.

OVERALL OPINION

I have this amp for six years (2800's era ball) and I do not spare.
Ideal for smaller rooms, robust (they are strong the German!) It offers excellent value / quality prices. The tube 20 anniversary is the same vintage with a relook HP Eminence.

Hughes and Kettner is a great German company that has been building unique looking amps for some time now. There most common amps are their Tri amp which has a glowing front panel that light up around the control knobs. They also have a see through plexi glass front panel where you can see inside the amp. Now many builders have been using that feature but I believe Highes and Kettner are the ones who made is famous.

This amp is a nice little 20 watt amp that has a clean channel and a distortion channel. Each channel sound crisp and natural. The El84 power tubes add a nice thick distortion to the lead channel. Easier to get a beefy break up with a small amp like this thanEl34 power would do.

This amp is a little gem. They have been building them now for 25 years and to celebrate that accomplishment Hughes and Kettner have decided to commemorate this with a 25 anniversary Tube 20 amp. So the ones you would see at the store now are the anniversary editions of this amp.

This amp sound great with any guitar you through at it. Whether that be a Gibson Les Paul of a Fender Stratocatser any guitar that has a good tone already will fit nicely with this amp. The cleans are chimy and bell like where as the distortion is thick and beefy. Good for doing the chugging type riffing. Overall this ia great amp for anyone who needs a good tone for two channels.

OVERALL OPINION

At new these amps come n at around $699, which isn't a bad price for a two channel amp with a lot of tone and features to match. These amps have a great voicing and make them extremely versatile for most music.

I would recommend this amp to anyone who need a good two channel amp that has a very usable clean and distortion channel. If you need a practice or small gigging amp under $800 then this is your ticket.

Bought in 1997, I was looking for a versatile amp, not too big. In the IDAL, I had several products amp to fill my happiness. APRS several tests brand prices trs variants, I came across this H & K tube 20. It was magical! and purchase TRS was the same day. An amplifier that meets all styles of music.
I love it and it lasts for 13 years. I would not change it against another. Trs warm clear sound and pure style jazz, blues.
Sound saturated rock blues style ACDC but not trash metal.
A real treat !!!!!

OVERALL OPINION

A test

20W all-tube, 2 channels, effects loop, Celestion Vintage Rockdriver, HP outlet additional direct output.

UTILIZATION

Volume on Channel 1, volume on channel 2 + drive, master volume, reverb and EQ Accutronix active (low / middle / treble from -5 to +5) for the 2 channels.
We must find the equalizer that goes: I now leave everything to 0. Purchased

SOUNDS

priority for his successful saturated frankly, fleshy and furious.
Add to that a personality and a truly effective equalizer ... the clean sound on the other hand left me rather perplexed.
It is not the success of this amp, as too cold for my taste (German thoroughness?).
That said, it's the advantage of offering a certain neutrality welcome to use effects pedals ...
I therefore put the overall score of 7 because of the lack of clear channel heat, but be aware that the popping sound is really good.

OVERALL OPINION

If we accept that at least one of two available sound is very successful (the saturation for those who have not yet understood the price and very democratic in the time for an all-tube amp (and made in Germany please!), then it is assumed that 7 is the minimum score to give this amp that has followed me for a good ten years without fail.
