« Big Tone! »
Published on 06/16/11 at 14:16There are two different wattage heads available for the Duende. This is the the 30 watt version. You get the same great tone and features. However, the tone will be slightly different as it will have a little more headroom and not push the power tubes as hard.
This amp is such an awesome tone monster. The tone from this amp is one of the best and most articulate amps that I have ever seen or heard. The cleans are chimey and alone make this amp worth owning. Then you get to the distortion channel and that is where this amp really reigns. The distortion is in the British flavor of tonal characteristics but has its own thing going. It i distinctively a Bogner tone and you can feel and hear it in the harmonics but this amps takes what Marshall was never able to do and devour it.

SOUNDS
This is premium tone at a premium cost. The amp is a bit expensive for a lot of people but one who have played a Bogner you will immediately hear and feel what you have been missing.
This amp sounds phenomenal with any guitar in any style pickup. I feel that this amp elevates you playing to a point of coming into you own. It basically takes what you are as a player and enhances everything that you do.
The cleans are nice and sweet like an old Fender amp from the 50's or 60's. The distortion channel is where this thing lives. The overdrive is full and warm with a touch are dark characteristics. The tone is alive to say the least. The best way to describe how you feel when playing this amp is, exuberant!
OVERALL OPINION
This is a fantastic amp at a fantastic price. At new these amps come in at around $2400, which isn't bad for a Bogner amp that is multiple channels. That is about $200 more than the 15 watt version of the same amp. The XTC ranges from $3800- $4200. Granted that is the flagship amplifier for Bogner.
I would recommend this amp to anyone who needs a solid amp and are just getting into the boutique amp world. You may never play anything else after this amp though.
