« Versatile and powerful! »
Published on 02/01/14 at 13:10I'm not super but it is stalled while the 100w lamps. (Many)
Possibility to switch on transistor but I did not try
On the face:
1 input jack
3 channels with 3 switch positions except Clean (2)
Presence med treble bass master gain on each channel.
Master and solo (volume) for the general.
At the rear:
With 4,8,16 ohm output
Preamp output with volume
Effects loop with send and return knob
Switch channels if not using the pedals.
Stereo input jack for switching channels (twelve o'clock dedicated to pedal)
UTILIZATION
Mesa c is a bit complicated though.
In fact the knobs react differently according to the gain.
The knob is used to add some more that was open bass.
But not necessarily all react like other types or orange Fender amps.
So it is a time of adaptation and love hacking.
The sound is good but beware it can sting if it rises too much treble.
Tip: put the speaker at ear level.
Therefore not necessarily simple but very versatile.
SOUNDS
I play rock groove (funk, rap, psyche rock and hard) and I sometimes find almost all the sounds I want.
I am plugged into a mesa 2x12.
I play Fender Strat Ultra, squier strat Japan Ibanez quarter cash as ...
C is that mesa in distos it knocks well. Clean is good although it lacks volume compared to distortion (so he must put strong Clean and distortion too). The crunch (channel 2) is more difficult to manage if you're looking a little cruch. Overdrives are cool!
Well the effects that cash with the possibility of stereo delay in the loop.
J uses OC3 octaver, flanger, distortion free poss. , Wha wha, small mxr gate, auto wah maxon mxr comp.
Nickel it works!
The sounds that I like least is the crunch I think. I'm not about to happen to find something that pleases me with a strat. With Ibanez quarter CAISS humbucker and no worries ...
OVERALL OPINION
It's been a while since I used the. (8 years).
I played on Fender hotrod (awesome) but less presence.
I ve tested orange tiny terror (very convenient but lacks versatility).
I tried Fender Twin (great but the clear)
I ve tested engl (a big one) I have found super clean clear surgical (nice) and I remember the distortion)
I chose it for the quality A / B (we can not have as A)
For versatility, for the occasion, and his mesa quite friendly.
J was also compared with Hugues keetner tri amp. J I prefer the mesa.
The problem is that c is big so I do not know if I do it again this choice.
I ve flashed on a princeton reverb but still without distortion ...
