Goodies:
This is a very good complement to traktor scratch and turntables. We quickly took his bearings and buttons fall quickly under the fingers.
The unit is robust
You plug it works!
It is compatible with other app like live by example and each button is assignable manually

Cons: honestly it is very hard to find ...
For as we say that the fact that it is close enough can interfere when placed between the table and a plate, which is quickly forgotten with a small extension (home or storage box)

So I started with the Behringer BCD2000 (no comment ...), then a Hercules I do not know what (a toy). I have forsaken the controllers and dedicated myself to traktor scratch.
Then a friend bought the S4 and tickled my neurons. I took the plunge and I do not regret the contrary.

I wanted to integrate a controller to my turntables and my mixer without having cables everywhere exceeded (see the pictures on my page).
The touch is really nice, really govern keys. It is easy to set up with all the software mix that accept Midi.

The Native Instruments Traktor Kontrol X1 is a hardware controller that is to be used with Traktor but it can also be used with pretty much any DJ software. A have only used it with two different applications but I prefer to just use it with Traktor. This unit is very small and light, it doesn’t take up much desktop space nor can it be racked. There are no built in effects and it cannot be used as a stand alone mixer. It is simply a controller. It comes with Traktor LE, so you can easily manage and work with all digital music. It is easy to use and set up. I had it up and running within just a few minutes of opening the box. It has never caused any issues when using it with Traktor either. Traktor is not my favorite software to use but it is one of the easiest to work with in my opinion.
There are back lit LED buttons and encoders on this unit. There are a total of 8 knobs and 8 buttons that will allow you to control up to 3 different effects per deck. I mainly use this unit as a MIDI controller to control many functions in Traktor and FL Studio when I am using it live. Being that this unit is so inexpensive I had no problem purchasing it alone with other units that are similar. I do not use it to work with live as much but I do a lot of work on it at home. When I purchased the Traktor Kontrol X1 it came with Kore Player 2 which is already free anyways and can be downloaded online. It is like a VST plug in that has sounds and presets in it.
The X1 by Traktor is not the best controller that native Instruments makes but it is very affordable and worth the money spent. It is well made, and all of the buttons and knobs are built well for this price.

before I had a config traktor S4 ac 2 MK2 turntable I have I was not satisfied with the mixer part of S4 so I resumed my nuo 3 ac 1 x1 and my 2 MK2 and for me it is the ideal config the top if I want to take pleasure in mixing the old has no worries thanks to timecod but when I move my X1 I took my 3 nuo my sound card and my pc is not bulky are the huge opportunity that is very effective'' s plug and play with traktor is a parameterizable wish is that brief pleasure this little controller value for money is unbeatable fun with the experience I remake this choice

What is so special that you like most and least?
Most:
- The price (219 € with the bag provided and Traktor Pro 2!).
- The opportunities it offers in such a small size.
- Simplicity.

Cons:
- The USB connection on the back seems to not hold too well, but nothing too bad.

No, it was the first such model that I bought.

The value for money is unbeatable!

what I like most is the buttons, layout is very well thought out. But the mapping for traktor serato scratch live and.
I do not like connecting the USB cable which is a bit cheap.

The value for money is very good especially as I had a license with Traktor Pro 2 (promo Native Instruments).
I gladly do it again this choice! I buy in order to control the effect of SSL that I considered buying. The promo made me decide and I am not disappointed.

What is so special that you love the most, least?
Goodies: The response of the controller, managing the impacts, the hardness of the buttons, readability during a set (even poorly lit), design, usability and software quality.
Cons: The knobs are missing can be a bit of hardness (in comparison with those of a kind table Xone 42), the inability to assign different colors to the buttons but it's still a detail.

Without a doubt, I started the mix with this controller via X1 now I have a config cdj / vinyl timecoded and I still find useful to X1. Do not hesitate because that X1 does not bridera your configurations as opposed to a controller type Vestax / Numark

As c 'is that it controls the load / navigation titles and effects and hotcues. (Mix without touching the computer that is better)
The least that is the inability of the record on traktor.

This choice I would do without hesitation.

Used for 2 months, to inflate my setup "mao" pack my CDJ / DJM 400
Indeed Traktor no effect and with hotcues the hustler is not very effective.

Most: buttons essential, lightweight device without being fragile, very ergonomic including total darkness. Course built for Traktor then top it at this level. The touch is satisfactory, response impeccable. The X1 is also effective in "stand alone"! A small + to prepare a set (hotcues loops and so on ...) or even a small improvised mix. Why not

The -: my faith ... my reluctance was still the price (yes it is very affordable when you know the market rates) but still, the 200th for a few buttons / knobs that I missed, I had a little bit of blues! Not ultimately disappointed with the device that is strong and likely sustainable. A small regret, the distance between the two (well 4) potentiometers navigation and loops are very close, it needs to be done. As quickly tried to play without looking at the fault can happen quickly. Finally we must find a fault.

I set aside the installation that I have not been conducted in optimal conditions.

I use it for about 1 month.

Before, I had a Denon DN-HC1000S mapping with traktor. However, is not really suited to the software.

Most:
- Complete control of the decks and now with the new mapping the samples decks. It's very intuitive, you do not spend hours to understand everything.

- Possibility to connect two devices to manage four decks (perfect if you want to use an external mixer type nexus 900 without necessarily investing in cdj).

- In August and September, we offer TP2 gratos.

- Ideal for use in timecode, need the keyboard.

The -: Uh ... ben ... Not find.

Very good value for money to buy the closed eyes to all the owners of Traktor.

What is so special that you like best?

Plug and play, we play one connects directly connected to a Traktor Pro 2 using the TSI of a pro it works perfectly in two, all functions are accessible, easy to use (I still plant between the button and load the loop because I do not watch what I do too), in the dark the backlight is just perfect.

I nUse more turntables / cd and uses only 2 X1, and have a blast as always, the plates I miss a little, but quickly forget it, a really great controller very well thought out, I would do this choice without hesitation, unless a spell NI Kontrol X2 ...

Purchased today, plugged tonight on a config with 2 Traktor Scratch Pro MK2 timecoding and Xone92.
Scare as Traktor does not detect direct as expected -> it should install the complete package and not just the drivers!
Once solved this problem while bathing!
Compared to XONE1D or 2D, this is not the same quality of manufacture but it is quite acceptable!
For now the mapping is perfect for me and for good reason, that fact
Obviously I have not execution speed but it will come quickly, the color of the buttons depending on their activation or not make things easier.
Obviously, it lacks the settings (speed, volume, etc.). But this is not done for! In fact it is a controller designed especially for those who use Timecoded with TSP, it can dispense with the mouse in session for its loops, its filters add and navigate playlists, it's damn convenient .
For those who want to control everything from a desk, I recommend turning to products like Vestax or another but I do not know if they still speak of deejing But these could also be attractive: there are 2 buttons sync, I'll probably disable time I press on it by mistake )
Visually, it's good, we will quickly fix and it's not too busy, brief is simple. No doubt he'll miss the essential functions but is there and does it well. Okay so first impressions hot huh.

"Very nice finish. It's not as cheap as it did in the air. The size is well thought out. There're a small aluminum plate that gives the metal nice touch that does not toy.

The ergonomics are well thought out everything is well placed. It connects the beast, installs the drivers from the cd, traktor opens. Traktor asked if you want to use the settings of X1 FX (I think that's the question mrgreen I looked quickly and clicked)

Plop And, it works no mapping to bang. I would say is for me the big advantage over the xone.

Any answers at hand, it's cool you branch and plop it works. So of course it is used for what is planned and that we do not seek to control 4decks, or do I not know what with. After it is for everyone to do what he pleases. But I think for someone who wanted to have fun to be his personal mapping and everything else that likes to have a jog faders. A Xone1D is more appropriate.

The two things that really bother me and it is minimal. This is the rubber buttons. But I think it is time for adjustment, although we must admit that the rubber is more "rigid" one button play / cue a DNS 1200 (for the benchmark of matter). And depth of the controller. But I think that sells native support, brief. They would still have done their controller deeper, jeai returned a cardboard packaging for the test quickly, the time to find another solution.

For summary and is honest for my use with timecode, I am really thinking of enthusiasm if I'm not going to sell my 4d, take a 92 second toy like that and audio8. I really like that thing you part, it works. I do not deny that the reception of the 4d and what is the mapping I left some hair. But it is true that once it is mapped a beast race.

But I think for 199 € Native does not really care about the shit out of people. We have something for his money. For now, I do not find many negative points to be honest. But it's still a personal assessment.

I must bump again with a little history to make my final decision.

I use it in conjunction with a DJM 400 and CDJ board 400 with Traktor Pro.
My CDJ are used in HID controller and sound card. Mac Book Pro and powered USB hub for the whole.

The control surface is just great: everything is great in the hand, the knobs and buttons are a perfect touch. The "click" for example, rubber buttons are very close to the feel of buttons Pioneer's ultra-precise. Ditto for the knobs ...

3 words: Effects, Hotcue and Loop.
The Kontrol X1 enables you to master the 3 parts which are (for me) the big plus of Traktor.
