UTILIZATION
Installation without any problem, whether Windows XP SP3 or Vista Pro32 Pro64 SP1.
GETTING STARTED
Ok, no problem.
A single track recording, I play at home and only have two hands.
Imperceptible latency even with a payroll of tracks and plugins (test with over 30 plug-ins including Vsti greedy).
OVERALL OPINION
It's been a month now that I used daily.
I rcupr that of the friend who wanted to spend Djangologiste something more "beefy".
This is a box preamp / audio interface very practical and user friendly. The quality is correct as long as we know what to ask. I do not use the microphone from only taking electric bass and guitar.
I did a little tour in the area of home-studio with Protools LE Digi002 rack and C | 8, with Marian Samplitude, Sonar with RME DIGI96 ... Live and now and UX1. This is not a move upmarket, on the contrary, but it is limited my need to make some arrangements as an amateur without problem. For me the shovel stuff in every sense it's over and I do not deal worse.
That stuff really practical without prtention, but to make the model without asking any questions it trs enough. A complter with a MIDI interface for controlling my amp. I use it as ID, Gearbox sometimes but more often live and I treat my face Amplitube and Ampeg SVX. Your exact is good, far from a pro studio shot cohrent but with the need and budget.
EDIT After a few months of use:
The Toneport is a small tool friendly and quick take control with low latency.
Gearbox simulations are not bad at all and dpannent well. The big problem of the Toneport is my view of the analog outputs of the interface. They are weaklings.
If the output level is correct and close to the standard, the dynamic is sacrment down compared to most common products. This is, I think the weakness of the D / A converters output.
For comparison, a map RME DIGI96 quoting substantially the same bargain price as the Toneport (also used) is much more dynamic ... but really.
Tobenort is certainly the most convenient tool for guitarists nomadic Gearbox with low latency and is effective. But for a longer recording raliste and work more srieux component (with a pre-mix correct) the Toneport will not hold the road longer. For those who s'intressent UX1 with the intentions srieuses better spend the range above: a single card with good converters and a small spar prampli (like GST or ART Studio). And the PodFarm? I believe that the license can be purchased even without Line6 hardware.
Attention, I'm not saying the UX1 is bad. For its price and because of its simplicity and the quality trs correct Gearbox is a good plan. But it is a Whereas as a tool for "training" or model and not as a basis for home-studio correct. An excellent first investment in the hardware for guitarist / bassist but too lightweight for most users express. Whereas A primarily as a good amp simulator that allows to register properly, what it does well trs.
