I was looking for an audio / MIDI interface on which I can connect all my devices with basic mixing functions. Here we have two entrances with pramp, two and four line input AUX input, MIDI in / out, send / return and direct outputs. I have two microphones above my POD and my synth electro-acoustic guitar. In 24bit/44.1kHz, we can make 4in/2out simultaneously without any pb. Direct monitoring is very simple to work. The pramp / trs converters are good for the price range (a thousand times better than the Roland U8 I had before). The look is also trsrussi, mtallise faade, robust buttons, makes it a lot better than the picture.
I use it with a Mini PC Biostar PIV 2.8GHz, 40GB HD 7200tr, 512.

UTILIZATION

There is a CD with drivers and manual in PDF franais. It seems that there is also a printed manual with the latest version. Some soft drinks are provided audio (VSTi, Sampletank free and a light version of Live).
Installation of drivers without pb on XP. I use ASIO in Cubase SL 2, I've never had a crash in four months of use. The menu is very simple config driver, otherwise everything is rgler directly on the interface and is handy.

GETTING STARTED

No bp stability of drivers, so I did not even look if t had been days! I have a latency between 10 and 15ms rglage with a "medium" (compromise stabilitperfo), nickel for VSTi so. I use it with Cubase SL 2, Battery and Sampletank Free, everything works well together trs. I did qq live recordings in a 4in simultaneously works well, it should be the limit of what USB is capable but trs qd same stable.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had four months, I had long before changing my hsit U8, and I would do without hsiter this choice, especially since prices much lower ... For me it is the IDAL in a small home studio for models / components. The sound is good, it is stable and the look is nice, and for my personal use I did not feel limited by its possibilities. I would like to point ngatif but frankly I do not see ...

I chose this card for the number of inputs / outputs, the quality (avre) of the two pramps + ghost and his mobility.
In fact it can serve as recorder Stereo or 4 tracks. But also to disseminate lctro four tracks, or an interface for processing in real time.
All this coupled with a UC33e.
Used with a laptop Compaq PIV 2.4 GB + 40 Ghz_256Mo Ram_DD an external F / W 200GB.
Direct connection of microphones through pramp (couple B-5 behringher notament)
output to a Spirit Folio F1, or directly to my amp yamaha P1600, or to the rgy diff concert venues

UTILIZATION

Installation without too much problem, no incompatibility. But on the advice of M-Audio, I prfr same right to opt for a purchase of VIP and not a Centrino processor or "Mobile". Too bad for the fans. I could not test it from another machine.
The config is a bit sensitive and the manual not clear a total notament in terms of connectivity.
By against, having the "buttons" across faade "speaks" my brain old analog generations.

GETTING STARTED

No worries for drivers today. I use those supplied with.
I have not really measured the latency, but I had some surpise in wanting "too much". I tend to leave on mdium.
on the other hand, unless I am mistaken, it is not possible to have the two other than IN 96kHz/24bits not very practical for software that does not Grente
I use this card mainly with AudioMulch and with Samplitude. Zero-worries

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a year now. And I'm really happy.
It matched my budget and a trs REPRESENTATIVES good compromise quality Price / Features
As against, for pity tural "mobilitquot; n'tant food not provided by the USB port, it could also be in a book bag for being protected from shock, but that price is the dj trs well. And it does not look that strong, it REALLY is.
