Benoit Rostykus and Pierre-Andre Savalle have released a beta version of Spicy Guitar, a real-time sound synthesis software simulating acoustic guitar tones.
Spicy Guitar is based on physical modeling algorithms inspired by research works on modal synthesis, physical modeling, and convolution technology. Since the mechanical and acoustic properties of the instrument are incorporated in the models, Spicy Guitar realistically simulates different guitars.
The Spicy Guitar project is the product of one year’s work by Benoit Rostykus & Pierre-Andre Savalle, two students at the Ecole Centrale Paris who wanted to combine their passion for music, specifically the guitar, with their experience in the science field.
Spicy Guitar v0.5 is available for Windows as a VST effect plug-in and it is free.
