A free hybrid synth for electronic metal sounds
UK sound library and VST developer Hinton & Fairchild offers the free FMetal VST 32-bit synth for Windows.
FMetal Synth generates metal sounds like those found in electro, dubstep, house or progressive electronic musics.
The synth features 3 oscillators that mix FM, AM and PM, a sub-oscillator, a synced Step LFO for the low-pass filter control and additional filter envelope control, reverb and distortion effects, portamento/glide with trigger and width control. A morphing Wavetable feature is also included as well as a Random X button to randomly choose among the 140+ included presets.
FMetal Synth is available for free download at hintonandfairchild.co.uk, you’ll just need to enter you e-mail address to get it.
